"You know he is so busy that he never has time for me" I said swinging in the air.
"He who?" Shaan asked.
"My husband" I replied.
"Oh. It's okay work makes people busy" Shaan said.
"He has never been available for me since 15 years" I replied.
"Hmm" was his response.
"How is your marriage? Your career?" I asked
"Well its all good. Bhoomi keeps me happier than what I can think of" He replied.
I was jealous because Bhoomi is where I was supposed to be.
"Does she make you happy like I did?" I asked.
"Lets order desert?" He replied.
"Shaan, don't ignore the topic. You're still the same" I sighed and replied.
"You are drunk" He said.
"Look I know you are happy. That's great. I am happy for you. I wish it was me instead of her but it's fine" I said looking up at the ceiling, "Let's get the bill" I continued.
"Okay" He replied.

We split the bill and started walking towards my hotel. It was a silent walk. I had realised that he is happy in his life and he had moved on. I haven't because I never found that love in my life after him. I don't know if I never found it or if I never really looked at it. It was a tough thing to analyse.

"Give your husband a chance" Shaan said.
"I gave him many chances, Shaan. I am disappointed. The only thing that keeps us together is our kids. I cannot break their hearts for my happiness" I replied.
"You can talk to him about it" Shaan replied.
"Yeah" I said.
I didn't feel like explaining any further. I didn't want to give him any chance because at some point even he broke my heart.
"Why are you here alone?" I asked.
"Well I am here for some official work" He said.
"Oh okay" I replied.
"And you?" He asked.
"Well I am alone because of many reasons" I said and laughed.
"What's funny?" He asked.
"My whole life" I said.
"Huh?" He said.
"You left me and now you wanted to have dinner. My husband has no time for me. My marriage sucks. I knew it wasn't going to work out. I can't share a thing with anyone in my life. It's like all the close things in my life are now away. I can't say anything to anyone anymore. I have been dying. I think I am dead now after meeting you. You kill me even today how funny is that" I said trying not to say too much.
"Seriously?" He replied.
"Yeah seriously" I said and laughed again.
"I never left you Ria" Shaan said.
"Oh your ghost did?" I replied.
"We have reached your hotel. Go upstairs. Take care" He said and left again.

He just left without saying anything again.

"But Baba, I don't want this right now" Ria yelled.
"Would you like it if I die right now?" Her father yelled back.
"Please Baba, you won't die. I am here and I wanna be with you and Maa for sometime and then I can definitely get married" Ria said calmly.
"Ria, He is doing this for you. You won't get such a good guy again" Ria's mom said.
"Maa please at least you support me" Ria cried.
"They are coming tomorrow and I want you to say yes" Her father said as if it was the final decision.

Ria ran back to her room. She cried. It had been only a month since Shaan and she had broken up. She wasn't over him. She needed some time but she never got that time. She was willing to do anything to go back to him but Shaan had blocked her from everywhere. He wasn't spotted at their local hangout spots either. He just disappeared.

She had been struggling to forget him and move on. Her mother and Father started looking for boys soon after she got her results. She completed her post graduation and was settled too, she didn't have any reason to say no now so her parents started forcing her.

"NEXT DAY"

"Please call your daughter we would like to meet her" Said a lady sitting in the hall.
Ria wasn't ready for this but she was forced to meet them. She wore a off white kurta with red coloured embroidery, with red coloured Salwar. It had an red coloured dupatta. She wore a pearl covered hoop earring and a necklace which was filled with pearls. She looked beautiful. The earrings were a gift from Shaan.

"This is our daughter Ria" her father introduced her.
"Hello beta" Said the guy's mother.
"Namaste" Ria said.

Ria sat with the guy on a couch while others were staring at her. Ria had her eyes downwards all the time. The aunty then asked her, "What do you do?", "I am working as an marketing manager with Hive company" Ria said. "Oh that's great" Guy next to her replied, "I am thinking of buying shares of that company, can you give me some details" he continued.

They both were left alone to talk. They discussed work and personal life. He asked her about her past and she was completely honest. He liked her honesty. He asked her if she wanted to get married for real. Thinking of her parents she said yes. He told her his name it was "Rihaan"

Ria was impressed and she agreed to get married. Rihaan said yes too and they were all set to get married. The engagement was held in the coming month and the marriage was set after 6 months. Ria wanted to give it a try so she asked Rihaan if they could meet and bond before marriage to know if they can stay together and he agreed.

Present

It feels as bad as it did on that day, that night when my parents forced me to meet Rihaan. It feels bad because in that moment I was broken and Shaan was no where. Why do I even love him even now. While Rihaan had been there since that day even after knowing everything. He has been busy but he is working for me and my kids. He respects and never walks away like Shaan does. A tear rolled down my eye again.

I went upstairs and just fell on my bed. My mind started getting clearer now.
