Marshall could barely keep his eyes open, the bags under them told the tale of a night with little to no sleep. Behind his closed curtains lied the crack of dawn. He forced himself out of bed as he yawned loudly and stretched. Who needs sleep when you can have some sort of caffeinated drink, Marshall thought. He stated brewing some coffee, the smell helped open his eyes to see the mess of a kitchen he was standing in. A bowl of squishy apples, the red sucked out of them, lied on the counter next to multiple empty beer cans. Marshall inhaled the scent of his coffee, still too hot to drink, and began cleaning up his surroundings.

Gumball slowly opened his eyes, his neck ached badly from the position he fell asleep in, he was still in the washroom. His stomach mourned for food, he forgot to eat dinner last night. "Peppermint Maid?" Gumball called, getting to his feet. He stepped into his room and examined the contents of his closet. "Peppermint Maid!" He called louder, pulling out some clothes. Peppermint came rushing in, panting for breath. "Yes prince!" She said, heaved over and taking deep breaths. "What might you need assistance with this morning." Gumball threw a shirt onto his bed and thought for a moment. "Pancakes please, Peppermint Maid..." He paused, looking down at his feet. "With lots of red berries, thank you..." His maid nodded, bowed, and stepped out. Rubbing his neck, Gumball sighed. Maybe it was best to just forget Marshall, forget what was and could have been. Besides, he thought, pulling his pants over his legs, I have royal duties to attend to.

His breakfast waited for him on the table, steam rising from the freshly made pancakes. Syrup was drizzled over multiple raspberries, making his mouth water with  anticipation and hunger. Sitting down, in the most polite way possible, he began to devour the sweet breakfast.

"Good morning, Tree Trunks!" The prince sang, walking into the elephant's bakery, carrying multiple cakes he had made. Tree Trunks smiled and cheered, shuffling over to him. "Thank ya', prince! This'll boost my business a whole bunch!" Gumball smiled, Tree Trunks was such a cutie, so optimistic and random. He set the cakes on a table and looked at the gleefully dancing elephant. "I'll help unpack, okay?" Tree Trunks smiled and went into the kitchen to continue baking as Gumball placed the cakes in the windows. Even as the shop was closed those goodies drew eyes to the shop, Gumball's cakes were legendary. These sweets would have fetched quite the price, had he sold them on his own, but Tree Trunks was an old friend. Just the thought of his bright face made Gumball feel warm. He waved at the children staring into the window and opened the door, as Tree Trunks came out of the back, and many candy people came rushing in to buy the goods. "Need any help, Tree Trunks?" Gumball offered, but the elephant smiled and shook his head. "Ah think ah can handle these hungry tummies! Thanks again, prince!" Help Tree Trunks with business, check! It must be noon, by now, and Gumball's stomach be aching for food. Pulling a cupcake out of his bag, he began to nibble on it, walking along the streets.

"There..." Mardshall said, standing in a clean kitchen. The smell of coffee still drifted through the house, after about three cups hr completely forgot about his sleepless night. Dusting off an old picture of him and Simone (Who was more commonly known as 'Ice Queen'), Marshall lifted his arm and reeked of body odor. He threw off his clothes and stepped into the shower, turning on the water. The warmth instantly soothed his body, making him sigh with relief. Shaking his head, like a wet dog, he sent water everwhere. Marshall laughed, squeezing shampoo into his hands, and massaged his scalp. He couldn't help but to sing as he washed his body, the words and rhythm of one of his own songs came so naturally to him as he opened his mouth to let it all out.

After rinsing out his hair and washing the soap off his body, Marshall stepped out of the shower and started drying off. With his towel wrapped around his waist, he walked into his room and began searching through his closet for some clothes.

Gumball sighed, walking upstairs from dinner. As he walked into his room and shut the door, he instantly threw off his pants and shirt and planted his body onto his bed. He felt under his pillow until he reached a pajama shirt Marshall had given him years ago. He wrapped himself in a cocoon of blankets and shut his eyes, Gumball's life was finally getting back to normal... ... what the hell is that noise? Who plays an instrument at two in the-- Gumball's eyes opened faster than they closed, and he rushed to the window. Marshall Lee flew softly though the air playing his axe bass, the sound was graceful and soft. "Marshall?" He whispered, opening the window, waving at him. The king turned his head and smiled, and it made the prince's stomach feel warm. "What a lovely morning, eh Bubba?" Marshall said, flying over to Gumball. Just the use of his nickname, Bubba, made him blush. "Marshall, w-what are you doing here?"  But the only responce he got was the vampire entering his room. "Bubba, I don't know what's going on right now..." Oh glob, he was going to say it, I don't like you Gumball, that kiss was weird, leave me the hell alone... I hate you Gumball... "But, I like it." He turned around. "I think... I like you, Bubs." The words soothed Gumball, and forced him to step closer to Marshall. "Marshall Lee..." He started, madly blushing. Marshall hushed him, holding his head in his hands. Gumball's face was so flushed, his mouth began to water. His blush resembled the most delicious shade of red he had ever seen, and he wanted to feed.
