"Banished?!" Flame Prince yelled as the guards began to haul him out of the room. He struggled to stop by Fionna, eyes wide. "Fi, c'mon baby, do something!" He pleaded to the angry human, who's arms were crossed over her chest. "I'm sorry, baby, but you hurt one of my best friends! As far as I know, we're through." He stared at her, mouth hanging open, as he was dragged away with Cake saying "Ooh, girl, you tell 'em!" Marshall turned his head to Gumball, looking shocked and happy. "How... How're you feeling?" He asked, his voice excited. Gumball wrapped his arms around him, pressing his lips to his which received a few unnecessary gasps. "Excellent." He mumbled into the kiss as Marshall snaked his arms around his waist with a smile. When they finally pulled away, there was a wide smile on the prince's face. "I feel so safe now... Oh, Marshall..." He said, hugging him closely. The king smiled, rubbing his back. Most of the room had filtered out now. "So what are you two up to?" Cake asked, jumping over the rows to meet them. "Probably nothing, but we're probably gonna stick together." Marshall said, "Why?" The cat glanced back at her sister, who was just looking out a window. "Fi's a lil broken up about her break up, so I was gonna have a movie night to take her mind off of things. Bring the gang back togetha, you in?" Gumball looked up at his king, and shrugged. "I'm cool with it, Marshall?" And he nodded, grinning. "We have got to watch that horror movie I've been saving for some time." He noticed his prince's face, kind of shocked, and leaned in to whisper "And don't you worry... I can hide your face... or we can just make out through the scary parts."

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Gumball asked later that night as they walked towards the girls' treehouse. Marshall held the movie in one hand, and Gumball's hand in the other. "I told you, it's going to be fine. And if you get scared, I'll comfort you." He said, pecking his cheek. The prince sighed as they walked, the sky was dark with clouds, so there was no umbrella needed. "Oh my glob, you guys!" LSP yelled, racing towards them at an unnatural speed. "Why didn't you tell me you two were a thing, I can totally keep a secret!" Marshall grinned as he turned around. "It never came up, I guess." He said, stepping closer to Gumball for comfort. Lumpy Space Prince was never his favourite guy in the world... "Whatever..." He mumbled, floating next to them. "Ya guys are just lame."

The tree house was dark and quiet, the perfect setting for a horror movie. Or book...

"Cake, Fionna, we're here!" Gumball called, climbing up the ladder after Marshall and LSP had floated up. "We're just up here, sugar!" He heard the cat call as he reached the second floor. They were surrounding a television, all seated, and he couldn't help but notice Marshall had reserved the love seat for them. Sitting next to him, the vampire draped an arm over his shoulders. "I'm really glad you decided to come." Marshall said, nibbling on his ear. "M-Marshall, not now..." He mumbled, blushing from embarrassment. "Keep it in yo pants, honey." Cake said, eyes narrowed at the vampire as she settled herself next to Lord Monochromicorn. He raised his hands, eyes wide, and kept to himself, earning a laugh from Gumball.

The movie started, and Gumball instantly became tense, so Marshall just wrapped his arms around him and held him closely.

"N-No! Don't go in there, the thing is in there!" The prince cried as the protagonist walked slowly down a hallway. "Shh, Gumball, just watch..." Marshall mumbled, resting his head on Gumball's shoulder. Everyone in the room was on the edge of their seats as the door creaked open and... "G-GAH!" Gumball shrieked as he buried his head in Marshall's chest. The vampire had flinched, but grinned as the thing began chasing the human down the hall. "Shh, Bubba, it's alright. They never kill the main chick." He said, lifting his chin. "Now c'mon, I'll distract you..." He whispered, pressing his lips to his. Gumball relaxed again, ignoring the screams of terror coming from the screen, and closed his eyes. "Guys, you're missing the movie..." Fionna mumbled, slightly annoyed. They broke apart, mumbling apologies as they focused on the movie. Gumball brought up his legs and snuggled up closely to Marshall, smiling as he watched the movie.
