Marshall had been gone for two weeks, easliy the most painful time Gumball had ever experienced. "My prince, please eat something..." Pepper begged, opening the door to the prince's room. He was crying again, it showed on his face and eyes, tear stained and bloodshot. Every reflection he saw showed a zombie-like version of himself, he had fallen apart. "Go away!" He cried, then smacked a hand to his mouth as he whispered "I'm sorry, Marshall..." His maid frowned, stomping over to him. "I've told you enough times already, that demon is no good! You should find yourself a nice girl and marry, I'm sure this is all a phase you're going through!" Gumball turned and glared at her eyes wide. "Shut up! Shut up, shut up!" He was yelling, thrashing around. "I'm nineteen years old, Pepper! It's not a phase, it's a life choice!" She stepped back, bracing for impact. Gumball had become somewhat violent over the weeks. No, he wouldn't punch or hurt anyone, but he threw anything in arm's reach at anyone or anything that was annoying him or making him sad. He hadn't washed, either, including the shirt Marshall gave him long ago that he never took off. "I'm in love with Marshall, and he loves me!" He stated, refusing to believe otherwise, and made Pepper wince at the words. She didn't approve of his homosexuality, only because it wasn't how royalty was supposed to live. But she put up with it, only because she loved Gumball with all her heart. It was bright out, though the sun shining didn't make him want to move at all. "I'm going to invite your friends, maybe you can go outside with them." She suggested, but it was more of an order.

Marshall had spent two weeks with his mom, following her around and bumming food off her, but the bonding time was nice. She comforted him, fed him, made sure (forced him) he bathed and cleaned daily... it was kind of nice. Gumball never left his mind, though, he never got a moment's peace without feeling guilty. "You really should go back to him." Hannah said quietly, her voice gentle. Marshall looked up from the sheet music he was reading to her, and opened his mouth to complain. "It's been two weeks, the poor boy must be heartbroken." She nodded, setting down her knife. "Mom, he probably took it as a breakup... I'm sure he's over me by now..." He said, his tone sad as he leaned back on the couch. His mother frowned, walking over to smack his head. "Ow-- What the hell was that for?" He asked, rubbing his head. That's one thing they had in common-- a good arm. "Marshall Lee Abadeer, that boy still loves you and you know it!" Hannah said, putting her hands on her hips. He turned and looked at her, frowing as he did. "He hasn't called... visited... mom he hates me!" She just glared at him, mumbling "Don't make me smack you again, mister." He closed his eyes with a sigh, looking like he wasn't going anywhere. Pulling his ear, and earning multiple pleads to stop, Hannah guided him to the door where his bags were waiting. "Wait, you were planning to throw me out today?!" He said, slightly offended. She nodded, crossing her arms over her chest. "Marshall, you're a thousand and four years old. If you were only nine hundred, that'd be fine, but now it's just sad to be living with your mother." He could see her lips curl into a smirk as she said the words, in which he responded with a grin. "Fine, cramping your style, am I?" He picked up his backpack. "A lot." Hannah laughed, wrapping her arms around him for a hug before he left.

Through his way back, Marshall didn't know what to expect. Would Gumball take him back with welcoming arms, or would he reject him? His room was clean. Weirdly clean. The bed was made, the floor was vaccumed, and the furniture was dusted. "Gumball." He whispered, dropping his bag. His love for him at that point felt strong, like they could do anything together, if they were together. He sighed, walking into the washroom to fix his hair. He was going to see Gumball tonight, just like their first night together. A midnight surprise.

"Fionna, Cake, and Flame prince have come to visit, sir..." Pepper whispered to the vegetable lying in bed as she opened the door for the three. "Hey PG." The human said, waving slightly. "Peppermint Maid said you're sad, so, we're here." Her voice sounded as awkward as everyone felt. Cake was just sitting in his chair, well aware this was a waste of time, and Flame prince leaned on the wall, most likely forced here by Fionna. Gumball made small conversation with the girl, nothing interesting, and leaned back like he wanted to sleep again. And the fact that Flame Prince, one of the biggest homophobic princes, was in the room with him, didn't help the situation. "Hey, Fi..." Flame Prince mumbled, looking at her. "Why don't you and Cake wait outside and we'll have a man-to-man." The girls seemed to brighten at the idea, and stepped outside. No one wanted to be stuck in the room with Gumball right now. "So you and the vampire broke up..." Flame said, walking over to him. Gumball frowned, shaking his head. "Nonsense, we're very much together--" He would've gone on, talking about how perfect they were for each other and how he loved Marshall with all his heart, but he was cut off by the sudden burning sensation coming from his mouth as Flame Prince kissed him.

Gumball struggled as the prince pushed him down, muffling cries for help with his mouth. He was strong, but the fiery prince was stronger. Marshall! He wished he could cry out, Help me! Flame was straddling him, trapping the candy prince under his burning weight. "Let go of me!" He managed, digging his nails into Flame Prince's skin. He grinned at the pain, biting Gumball's lip. "Fiesty..." He mumbled in a seductive tone that only made Gumball's stomach churn. "Now you sit back like a good prince and let me have my fun..." His hand snaked down and stroked his crotch, then he frowned. "Not getting hard for me, Gummy?" He pouted, forcing apart his legs. "Good thing I don't need it..."

...

"Not half bad, boy toy..." Flame Prince mumbled to his trembling victim as he pulled up his pants. Gumball was terrified, traumatized, and unable to speak. "Keep it loose..." He grinned before he left the room, leaving the severely burnt and abused prince behind.

It was ten. The sun was down, Marshall was clean and dressed, and he was ready to find Gumball again. To speed things up, Marshall flew across the quiet land to his prince's castle, eager to see him again. The windows were locked, unusual, so he knocked with a raised eyebrow. "Gumball? It's me... I-I don't know if you want me back... but--" Marshall was quickly cut off by the windows flying open and Gumball's arms wrapping around him. He was shaking, and Marshall could see the burns on him. "I love you, Marshall Lee!" He said loudly as he squeezed him in the hug. Smiling, Marshall responded with an "I love you too, Gumball..." When the prince finally pulled away, his face looked alarmed and scared. "P-Please stay the night, stay with me..." He pleaded in a whisper, arms still holding his king close against him. Marshall nodded slowly, looking at him. "Bubba, you're all burnt and you're shaking... what happened?" He asked in a worried tone, eyes wide. Gumball could feel the hot tears behind his eyes as he stammered "N-Nothing!" and guided him inside. "You sure...?" He asked, wrapping an arm around Gumball. He flinched, then remembered it was him. "Yes, I'm sure... please just stay with me." Marshall nodded, still worried, and wrapped his arms around his prince as they laid in bed. "I'm sorry..." Gumball whispered, resting his head on Marshall's chest. The vampire nodded, rubbing his back gently. "It's okay, Bubba, I'm sorry too, for so many things..." His voice was soft and comforting, it soothed Gumball. His breathing was slowing as he cuddled Marshall closely, relaxing for once that day, though he was struggling to keep his eyes open. "I love you, Gumball..." He whispered, kissing his forhead. "Please sleep, I'll be here..." Gumball nodded slowly, and drifted off in his arms.

Marshall didnt know what was going on, or what was wrong with Gumball, but the least he could do was make him feel better, before he dug around and found out.
