Cole had gotten Kai to the Ninjago Hospital in time. Kai was then rushed into theater to be treated. One of the nurses came and sat next to Cole and woke him from his sleeping state.
It'd been at least ten hours in surgery, and Cole waited in the waiting room till he fell asleep in one of the chairs.
The nurse, Bethel shook him awake.
"Ugh.. What? What- is he okay?" Cole shot up, looking at Bethel closely.
"Indeed, he's fine. You got him here just in time. But, how long was he....tortoured for?" Bethel asked quickly.
"Five years. The guy, Liu was the...monster who did this. " Bethel hugged the poor earth ninja, sensing he was...... Not happy put it that way.
"You can go see him. Just don't tell anyone. And! He will be sleeping so-"
"I won't. I'll let him be"
Cole nodded as he walked down the hall before stopping.
"What room?" He asked, sheepishly.
"Room 3G" Bethel answered.
When Cole entered Kai's room, tears sprang to his green eyes.
Kai lay on the hospital bed in a pale blue gown, with an IV next to flowing into his arm, tubes of all sorts were coming from his arms, and one even attached to neck, that looked like another sort of IV. Kai had a small mask over his mouth and nose to help him breath, one of his legs was in a red cast, so was his left arm which was held by a sling. He was as skinny as a twig, his bones were see able through the fabric of his gown. This was all Liu fault.
The heart monitor was beeping at a steady pace.
Thank the first Spinjizu master.
Cole collapsed in to the arm chair beside Kai's bed, sobbing.
He looked so fragile. So broken in that bed.
Would he ever get over it? Mentally?
"He should be able to return home in about six weeks. However, we may have to get a physical therapy for him as well as a session with the hospital's specialist. " Bethel entered the room, placing a hand on the black ninja shoulder. Cole nodded.
"You should go home. Get some rest. I'll call you as soon as he wakes. Promise"
Cole knew he had to, be he didn't wanna leave Kai in such a vulnerable state. "How about, I'll get two security officials to stand on watch, is that okay?" Cole nodded as he stood, knowing Kai was in good hands.
He walked out of the hospital, thinking how he was gonna tell the others that their long lost brother was at the hospital and that Cole had taken care of him.
