Feira Lynn-Soreil feared nothing.
It was the sudden chill in her room that alerted her of the presence of a powerful creature. A very angry one.
Laying on her bed, feigning sleep, Feira spied the creature that had given her a cause for alarm. Sitting on her sofa, eyes closed, was the Master.
As the Princess of a revered legacy there was little Feira feared. Respect, wealth, power and an army of servants and Masters were at her beck and call. She was the adopted daughter of the Master, there was nothing to fear.
Of course she could not prance about causing trouble, "Rules were rules" , and regardless of her position, she was still subject to the order of the council of elders. Unfortunately.
For the past few days, she had been busy cleaning up the mess the human had created.
She had seen to it that the servants would not dare say a word contrary to her statement, and had placated a very disappointed Lord Ken concerning his involvement with the human girl.
All that remained was for her to play the part of a concerned Mistress to Master Leon.
The fate of the girl was the fault of Master Leon. If he had not taken her in, the human would probably still be alive.
Many things concerning the human had annoyed her, but what had angered her the most was that she had pranced about tempting the Master with her untested blood.
Very few people knew about the Master's awakening, and for their sake, she would do them all a favor by making sure the human was never remembered.
Feira did not know why the Master was in her room, neither did she wish to know especially in his angered state.
"I know you are awake Feira." the Master suddenly said.
Feira winced, forcing a smile on her face as she opened her eyes. The Master rarely visited her quarters, and this unannounced visit made her especially nervous.
The Master's eyes snapped open, and fearsome red eyes stared back at her.
Feira had heard many tales of the glowing red eyes, but had never witnessed it. Now she understood why many dreaded the sight of it.
"Master," Feira smiled nervously, "I was not aware that you had returned, Welcome home." He was not scheduled to return for another week, something must forced him back to the fortress.
The Master gave no reaction to her words. He remained silent, watching.
"All was well in your absence." Feira continued, trying not to fidget under his gaze.
"Where is the human girl?" a chill went down her spine at the question.
She had been expecting Master Leon and not the Master to be asking those questions. He usually never bothered with such simple affairs. With deep breaths, Feira maintained her composure.
Feigning concern she answered, "I returned one evening and discovered that the girl was gone. No one knows why she - "
"Be careful with your next words," he warned. The Master was angry, and for the first time, his anger was directed at her.
Quickly, Feira hurried off her bed and fell to her knees, "Forgive me my Lord." She pleaded, "I did not mean to anger you." she had calculated everything but the Master's interference.
The Master watched in disappointment. In his absence, his sweet child had turned into a vixen.
"Tell me dear Feira." he said, "How should I punish you?"
