"That is the most outrageous thing I've ever heard in my life!" Ysabel screamed.
Marigold looked at the human. She had always know that Ysabel had a bit of a temper, she had seen glimpses of it when she had been her assistant, but this was the first time she was seeing it's true potential.
If that temper wasn't curbed. It would get her killed.
"Listen to me, you need to calm down." Marigold pleaded, "The Masters never stay away for long, they will return soon."
"Soon?!" Ysabel shut her eyes to calm the wave of panic attack that danced at the brink of her mind. "That bitch is looking for a reason to used that damn whip on me, and you want me to calm down?"
"If you don't calm down, you will get yourself killed!" Marigold screamed at her. "Remember whom you are dealing with, have you not learned anything."
Ysabel gulped and stare frantically at the girl, "the people you deal with can snap your neck with their thumbs." the memory of Dave's head flying off his head because a simple slap returned, and she felt sick. "Humans are like nothing in this world, in this fortress even the weakest of slaves is stronger than you. You are a prey in a house of predators, to survive, you need to keep your head low. Mistress Feira will kill you at the slightest hint of disobedience. Set your eyes on the goal if you do not wish you leave here as a corpse."
Marigold watched as Ysabel froze up and just stared. She knew she had been quite harsh with her words, but then the truth was not always a delightful thing to hear, and this was not the time to butter up the truth. She truly wanted Ysabel to live, and from her years of serving in the fortress, it was only a matter of time before Feira killed her.
If Ysabel had been anyone else, she would have been dead. The only reason she lived was that Feira needed a good reason to kill her within the laws. Although one did not really need a reason to kill in this world, it was a strange thing to see Feira hate a supposed guest of the Master without truly knowing her.
She would bet her savings that there was more than what was seen.
Marigold watched as Ysabel sat on the bed with a sigh. It seemed like a sign that she would hold her head down.
"I'll return with your clothes." Marigold said as she walked away.

Since she had been demoted to the status of a servant, Ysabel chanted the rules in her mind daily. During the day, she worked on the paintings, and at night she served the guests with the other servants. There were about fifty guests residing in the fortress, and as much as she tried to obey the rules, it was a very difficult thing to do considering that she was a human.
She stood out amongst the rest of the servants like a piece of broccoli on a birthday cake. Firstly she did not have any experience, and secondly she was human. It turned out that the guests could sniff out humans like a dog could sniff out a bone.
From the first day, she became a spectacle to the guests.
Whenever Feira was asked why she had a serving human amongst the servants, the witch would laugh and reply that Ysabel was her newest acquisition.
A pet in need of training and taming.
Ysabel was disgusted by everything, but to survive, she would do what she needed to do. Of all Feira's guest, there were two that scared and disgusted her the most; Lord Ken and Lady Kelly, twin siblings.
