My weak eyes that I hoped to never open again, opened slowly. I could feel how puffy my eyes were from crying so much.
I was on a bed and by the smell of the surroundings, I knew I was in the hospital. My hand had a needle attached on it, connected to a stand (You know what I mean right?)
No one was around me, but that didn't bother me at all.
Beatrice. Beatrice was the person who I cared and worried the most about. Where is she?
What happened earlier? Was it true? Was it reality? I hope, pray and wish it wasn't.
I pulled out the needle attached to my hand and immediately ran to the nearest counter.
"Where is Beatrice? Beatrice Valentine," I asked the lady in the counter.
"I'm sorry miss but aren't you Aria Valentine?" The lady asked politely.
"Yes, I am but can I know where my sister is?" I asked.
"I'm sorry miss but you can't go anywhere. You haven't recovered fully yet. Please go back to your room"
"No. I'm fine. Where is Beatrice?" I asked, my tone slightly raised. The lady sighed and showed me to Bea's room. I was nervous to see her. I wasn't ready to see her dead body. I wasn't ready to see her because I was scared I would breakdown immediately.
As the lady opened the door to Bea's room, my heart stopped racing. There she was. Laying on her bed, eye's closed, not moving, not breathing, dead. I tried hold in my tears but I simply can't. I fell on my knees, cupping my whole face and started flooding the whole room with tears. I couldn't stop crying. She's gone. My only best friend, my only sister is gone. I couldn't stop crying until I noticed a hand being placed on my shoulder.
I lifted my head to see who it was. I saw an unfamiliar lady, probably around her forties. "You need to get back to your room, Aria," The lady said, gesturing to the door. I didn't want to leave Bea but at the same time I can't bare to see her like that. So I walked myself to the door with a nurse guiding me back to my room. I was trying to stop my tears from streaming down my cheeks but it just wouldn't stop. The nurse gave me a small pat at the back and gave me a warm smile, I smiled back as my tears stream down my face.
Entering my room, the nurse helped me to lay in the bed and attached the needle I pulled out before back to where it was supposed to be. "Sorry," I murmured.
"What for, dear?" She asked.
"For troubling you"
"No, no," She chuckled. "I am used to this, it is my job anyways," She stopped for a few seconds, "I'm sorry dear but losing someone got to be a part of your life. Everything will be okay," She continued, giving me an empathetic smile. I gave her a weak smile, slightly tearing up
She left the room to get something. I examined the room and noticed my hospital report card on the table above the end of the bed. I grabbed and opened it.
Nothing much was inside it, since I never go to the hospital but something caught my eye.
Mother : Amanda Rose Smith
Father : Rodger David Valentine
I don't recall my mother's name to ever be Amanda Rose Smith.
I immediately closed and put my report card back to where it was when I heard someone twisting the knob of the door to my room
