Almost two years had passed after Bea's death and surprisingly I am getting happier ever since Amanda came.
The last couple of months was busy for me, especially for Dad and Amanda. I helped them prepare their wedding. I picked Amanda's gown, their cake, the place and even their invitation cards.
And today is their wedding day.
I was standing 100m away from Amanda next to the other bridesmaids and I could see how happy dad was seeing Amanda about to be his wife, and also about to be my mother.
They were exchanging vows and I could feel a tear dropped. It was happy tears and also sad tears. I just wished Bea was here to see our family finally coming together again.
I could see the crowd full of people smiling and crying tears of joy. But there was one lady who went running to the restroom. No one does that right? I was quite concerned, was she okay? I ran to the restroom after the priest announced they were officially husband and wife. Eyes were on me as I was running but I didn't care.
It wasn't hard to know which one of the stalls the lady was in by sniffing and sobbing. I knocked on the door, "Are you okay?" I asked, genuinely concerned. I could hear she stopped sobbing and immediately opened the door.
"Aria?" She sounded so relieved to see me. But I didn't.
It was Ruby.
She looked so doleful after I gave her a nasty look. Why was she here? Why did she want my attention? What did she want from me?
I tried to leave the restroom but she grabbed my hand, "Aria please, just let me talk," She begged.
She started falling on her knees and guilt started filling my chest.
"What do you want to tell me Ruby?" I asked bluntly.
She stood and held both of my hands and looked me straight in the eyes. I was kind of scared, but I shouldn't be.
"Aria, please believe me, Amanda's not safe. She's dangerous. She'll try to hurt you-"
"What's going on in here?" I heard someone said. It was Amanda.
"You!" Amanda pointed directly at Ruby. "Why the hell are you attending my wedding with Rodger?" She said emphasizing 'Rodger'. "Oh, Rodger must sent you an invitation! Haha! That silly prankster. He didn't actually think you'd come, you stupid bitch," She continued insulting her.
Ruby didn't reply or fire back at Amanda's offensive words as if she feels like she deserved it.
I wanted this to stop, I felt bad for Ruby. She doesn't deserve this at all but a tiny voice inside me reminded me that she left us, she abandoned me.
I tried to not look at her and left the restroom with Amanda. Leaving her alone.
