Hunter
Avery walks over to Chance as I stand in front of her to block her.
"Aw! Hunter's sticking up for his girlfriend," She snickers. Her laugh makes me want to push needles into my eardrums.
"Well just wanted to check on how my dork was doing. So how are you doing Chance?" She asks. Chance rolls her eyes before attempting to walk away. Avery grabs her and slams her against the lockers.
"I was talking to you," She smirks as she holds Chance in place.
"Leave me alone," Chance pleads.
"Let her go Avery!" I yell pushing her out of the way.
"Whatever. Freaks," She smiles as she walks away. Chance looks at me with tears in her eyes.
"Ditch day?" I ask. She shakes her head no as a tear falls. I pull her into a hug. She wipes the tears and walks to class. Throughout the day Avery comes up to us many times. Each time calling Chance something. At the end of the day, my mom comes to pick us up.
"Hey Mrs. Rowland," Chance smiles pretending like everything was fine. She puts on a show for parents. It's hard to tell she's lying.
"How was school you three?" My mom asks.
"School sucked. Mr. Marin gave us a pop quiz and I'm pretty sure I failed." Brandon complains. Chance slaps him in the back of the head.
"You better not have failed," She giggles.
"What about you two?"
"Bad. Chance wa-" I start.
"It was good!" Chance interrupts me. I look at her with a pleading look. She shakes her head no. I sigh and hug her.
"What was that Hunter?"
"Bad. Chance might be failing Spanish," I sigh. Chance nods. in approval.
"Isn't Spanish your best subject?" My mom asks her.
"Si senora," She sighs.
"Failing it? How?"
"We took an exam that I totally bombed," She lies. My mom nods in understanding. We drive to the elementary school and pick up Ashton who starts talking about his day instantly.
"Eva loves me! I gave her my gummy worms and she said she loved me," He smiles as he buckles his seatbelt. Chance giggles.
"Is Eva pretty?" She asks Ashton. He nods blushing.
"Aww young love," Chance smiles burying her face in my chest. I laugh.
When we get home we go to my room and study for the test coming up.
"Okay so... Blah blah blah doo doo doo. I couldn't care less," Chance says reading the textbook.
"Chance," I laugh making her giggle.
"It's boring!" She groans.
"Nah, really?" I say sarcastically. She laughs and continues reading normally. She spends the night at my house and was going to stay with us for the weekend. Which makes me happy. Chance makes me happy.
