Mitch smiles as he walks into English class on Monday. He had such a good weekend with Scott after Valentine's Day and they spent most of the weekend playing with Wyatt. Mitch is so in love with that cat. He still can't believe Scott got him an actual cat! A hairless cat.

"Good morning," Mitch says when he walks into Scott's classroom.

Scott looks over and smiles when he sees Mitch. "Ah, there's my favorite student,"

Mitch giggles. "It's a good thing nobody else is in here to here that,"

Scott chuckles and shakes his head. "That's because you're the first one in here every day,"

"You trying to say you're getting sick of me?" Mitch pouts before walking over to his seat and sitting down.

"I could never get sick of you," Scott grins, and then he looks over when a couple of girls walk in. "Good morning girls,"

"Good morning Mr. Hoying!" The girls giggle, causing Mitch to roll his eyes. Half of the girls in this school have a crush on Scott and it's ridiculous how oblivious they are to his sexuality.

"Your necklace is pretty," one of the girls say.

Scott glances down at his necklace and smiles before looking back up. "Thank you," he beams.

"Where did you get it?"

"Someone very special to me got it for me," Scott says.

Mitch looks up at Scott and blushes before looking down at his desk. He's glad he got Scott that necklace, and it would be even better if Mitch could brag that he's the one who got Scott that necklace.

Lunch rolls around quickly and Mitch finds himself sitting on Scott's desk, Scott standing in front of him, and they're currently in a very heated makeout session. Lunchtime is really the only time they have to themselves the whole day where nobody can bother them. Nobody really comes in unless someone has detention or if a student needs help with their homework and/or extra credit.

"God," Mitch moans as Scott pulls away and starts kissing his neck.

"Shh baby," Scott whispers, glancing up at Mitch with a smile.

Mitch pushes Scott away the second he hears knocking at the door.

"Shit, go sit sit down," Scott hisses as he quickly fixes himself up. He watches as Mitch scurries off to his seat before nervously walking over to the door. He opens the door and looks up to see Kirstie. "Oh, hey..."

"Hey," Kirstie greets. "I'm just walking around to check on everybody. Oh, hello Mitch..."

Mitch looks up and blushes when he sees Kirstie. "Hi," he says shyly.

"Aren't you supposed to be in lunch right now?" Kirstie asks, raising her eyebrows.

"Um..." Mitch hesitates as he thinks of something to say. "I..." He looks over at Scott for help.

"Mitch usually eats in here with me. The cafeteria isn't really a good spot for him. Travis is in there and people just like to bully him. I hope that's okay?" Scott asks, smiling a little.

"Sure, but I would be careful. People are already starting to get suspicious about you two," Kirstie says as she glances over at Mitch before looking back at Scott.

"What do you mean?" Scott asks nervously, looking at Kirstie.

"People see how close you two are. They think you might be in a relationship or something," Kirstie explains. "I wouldn't want something to happen to either of you two."

"What? Th-That's ridiculous," Scott says. "Mitch lives with me. Of course we're close."

"I know but not everybody knows that. I know that you would never take advantage of any of our students but others think differently..." Kirstie sighs. "Just be careful." She turns around and walks out.

"Fuck," Scott curses before shutting the door. He rubs his face.

"Scotty?" Mitch asks nervously as he watches Scott. "What's wrong?"

"This was never a good idea. We shouldn't be doing this," Scott groans.

Mitch frowns, scared of where this is going. "Wh-What are you trying to say?"

"I'm saying that we can't be doing this anymore," Scott snaps without meaning to. "Alright?" He walks over to his desk and sits down. He pulls out some papers and starts grading.

Mitch's eyes begin to water up as he looks down at his desk.

Did Scott just break up with him?

How is Mitch going to survive without Scott by his side all the time? Scott's basically his protector. He's the reason why he's able to get through the school day. Scott keeps all the bullies away.

Mitch couldn't be more grateful that the day is over. Things only got worse after what happened with Scott earlier. He ran into a couple of bullies and got beat up, and now he has a black eye.

"Here Wyatt," Mitch says as he places the now filled cat bowl down on the floor. He smiles a little when Wyatt walks over to eat his dinner. "You're cute. Ow-" He touches his eye lightly. He looks up when he hears the door opens and panics. Scott can't see him like this but there's nowhere to run. He turns around and starts heading to the backdoor that leads to the backyard.

"Mitch?"

Mitch cringes when he hears Scott call his name. He glances over and sees Scott standing in the doorway, and he prays that Scott won't see his black eye. He doesn't even want to think about how Scott will react.

"Where have you been? I've been trying to call you since school ended," Scott says.

Mitch pulls out his phone and sees at least ten missed calls from Scott. "Oh," he mumbles.

"I mean, it's fine if you don't want to ride home with me sometimes but let me know. I was worried sick about you," Scott sighs and runs his hand through his hair.

Mitch blinks a few times. Scott was worried? But didn't he break up with him?

"Ow," Mitch whines as he covers his eye.

"Mitch?" Scott asks, walking over to him. "What's wrong?"

"No," Mitch tries to turn and run away so Scott won't see him but Scott grabs ahold of him.

"What are you trying to hide from me?" Scott asks. He moves Mitch's hand and gasps as soon as he sees Mitch's eye. "Oh my God. Mitch, what the hell happened?"

"Stop! Don't touch it!" Mitch yells as he tries to push Scott away.

"Will you calm down?" Scott asks, frowning at Mitch's behavior.

"No!" Mitch yells as he looks up at Scott. "You don't even want to be with me anymore so just go away..."

"What?" Scott asks, blinking a few times. "Where did you get that idea?"

"Because-" Mitch huffs frustratingly. "You said we couldn't do this anymore!"

Scott's silent for a moment before he facepalms. "Oh, sweetheart... that's not what I meant..."

"I don't... understand?" Mitch asks, tilting his head slightly in confusion.

"I meant that we couldn't kiss at school anymore like we've been doing. It's too risky. We almost got caught today. Luckily Kirstie knocked before she came in and that gave us time to separate. Kirstie's right. People are starting to get suspicious and they're watching us," Scott says.

Mitch stares at him. "So, you're not breaking up with me?" He asks.

Scott chuckles. "No, you silly boy. Now let's clean up your eye," he says.

Mitch sighs in relief, and hugs Scott tightly.

"I love you too much to let you go," Scott whispers as he hugs Mitch back.
