Chapter 19
'Ron?' Hermione asked curiously staring at the two boys in front of her.
It had been almost a month since she had last seen him and all of the feelings inside her were confused. Of course she was happy to see him, she loved him. But she was also furious at him. Furious for the way he just left her and Harry. He smiled at her, his goofy smile that she loved so much. She noticed something in his hand.
'What's that?' she asked.
'Oh that.' Ron smiled again, holding up two objects. 'We destroyed a horcrux.'
Hermione saw the broken locket, and in Ron's other hand the sword of Gryffindor.
'How come you just happen to have that sword?'
'I found it.'
'Euuuurgh!' Hermione groaned and walked back to then tent. Her and Harry had been looking for that sword for what felt like years and he just happened to turn up and have it.
Ron laughed as he watched Hermione walk away. He had really missed her and it was so good to see her again, although he never knew if things would be the same between them.
-
Hermione, Harry and Ron walked together through the grand entrance of Hogwarts into the great hall, although it wasn't like the great hall they could remember. It seemed like the three had been away from Hogwarts a lot longer than they actually had. The four tables were pushed to the sides and in there place were hundreds of mattresses, covered with injured people. They recognised quite a few faces and rushed over to the Weasley family who were gathered around a ginger headed figure.
'Fred!' Ron cried running over to where his brother laid dead.
'I'm so sorry Ron,' Hermione cried laying her head on his shoulder.
'We have to destroy the final horcruxes and kill him once and for all.' Ron stood up with a very determined look on his face.
'Ron, Hermione.' Harry looked at his two best friends. 'You go down into the Chamber of Secrets and try and find a basilisk tooth, we can use that to destroy the horcruxes.'
Ron and Hermione ran off, quickly getting down to the chamber where they wanted to be.
'Look Hermione,' Ron said turning to face the girl he loved. 'I don't know what's going to happen tonight, but I do know that there is a chance one of us might not make it.'
He stroked away the tears that were falling down Hermione's cheeks.
'Just in case, I wanted to tell you how much I love. How much I have always loved you and no matter what happens tonight I will always continue to love you.'
He took Hermione's face in his hands and kissed her.
She pulled away smiling and gazing into Ron's eyes.
I love you too Ron. I love you too.
They walked over to the body of the snake, that had been dead for many years, and removed one of the fangs from its cold, dead mouth.
A loud voice inside there heads caused them to stop in there tracks.
Hermione screamed.
'Harry Potter,' a voice hissed 'I now speak directly to you. You have one hour to return to the forbidden forest to face your match. If you do not give yourself up, then I will destroy every man, woman and child that gets in my way and tries to protect to. You have one hour before everyone you love will die.'
