Chapter 12
Ron woke up the next morning still annoyed. He had told Harry, that he had heard he was running away to do something, but Harry quickly denied it. Ron didn't want to say that him and Hermione had over heard their conversation but now he felt like he might have to.
'Harry?' Ron called out in their dormitory. Seamus, Dean and Neville had already gone down to breakfast, so he knew they weren't there to over hear this conversation.
'What?' Harry replied sleepily.
'About what I asked last night...' Ron started.
'Will you not go on about it Ron. It's not true. I don't know who told you that I was planning on running away, because I'm not and if I was then I would have told you. Who ever you spoke to about it must be lying.' Harry was getting very angry at Ron.
'What? Lying like you are now.' Ron sat up and saw the surprised look on Harry's face.
'It was me who heard you,' Ron carried on 'Me and Hermione were in the greenhouse last night when you and Ginny came in, and we heard everything that you said.'
Harry looked upset by this.
'So would you please like to tell me what you are planning on doing? Why you want to run away? And what you have to figure out before you leave?'
Harry didn't reply.
'Look mate.' Ron started to say 'Me and Hermione just want to help you. You can trust us.'
'Alright.' Harry replied staring down at the bed he was sat on.
'Dumbledore has set me a mission. He knows that Voldemort is working out how to get into Hogwarts and it's only a matter of time before he starts to kill off the ones I love.'
Harry paused for a moment, wondering where to go from there.
'You see Voldemort has Horcruxes...'
'What?' Ron asked looking confused.
'He split his soul into parts, anyway Dumbledore wants me to find them and kill them before it's too late.'
'What do you mean too late?' Ron asked.
'Sooner or later he's going to try and kill me. Kill me and all the people I love. The people who love me, just like he did with my parents, and that's why I have to get away. I don't want to put you in any danger.'
'Cause you've never done that before.' Ron laughed, and even Harry smiled at this.
'Look Ron, I can't stay here anymore.'
'Harry, you have to stay there's no safer place in the world, and running away from Hogwarts isn't going to protect me, Hermione and Ginny.' Ron gulped, realising what he was saying. 'The best thing you can do is hang around for a bit, found out what it is you have to do. And when the time is right we can all help you.'
'I guess you're right.' Harry replied.
Ron smiled.
'Now tell me everything you know about these Horcruxes.'
