Jane woke, her hands going to her neck. The choker was there, and she sighed, letting her hand drop.

"Finally. Good news, you didn't miss dinner. But you will if we don't hurry." Tidbit looked up from his book, which Jane glanced at. It clearly read, The Shining, which surprised Jane. She could hardly read English; it gave her headaches and she couldn't wrap her mind around it. Yet she was able to read this language perfectly.

"Hey," Tidbit stood and moved towards Jane with surprising speed. He grabbed the flower pendent on Jane's neck, and glared into her eyes. "Where did you get this?

Blinking, Jane pulled away from him. "Persephone gave it to me."

"In your sleep?" Tidbit raised an eyebrow. "And you're sure it was her? She hates us."

Nodding, Jane stood. "Just because she's dad's wife doesn't mean she hates me."

"How'd you know that?" Tidbit cried. "You didn't even know who dad was!"

"So?" Jane snapped, jumping out of bed. "I can learn Greek mythology. Persephone allowed me."

Tidbit shook his head. "Okay, I'm sorry, Jane, but this is weird. We need to go see Chiron."

"No!" Jane yelled. Tidbit backed up a step, hurt. Shaking her head, girl slumped her shoulders. "I'm sorry. This is weird. I've been kidnapped, claimed, found a place where mythological creatures exist, found out I've had a brother, and had a visit by a goddess in about two hours."

After a moment, Tidbit nodded. "It's a lot to take in, I know. But you'll get use to it. Come on, Chiron's not bad."

They arrived at the Big House, and turns out, Chiron was a centaur, the same one who had been there when Jane had first arrived. He was now in a wheelchair, sitting on the deck. When Jane told him about Persephone, and Tidbit helped with the part after she woke up.

"Interesting..." The man nodded. Then he stood up, his Yankee baseball blanket falling off from around the chair. His horse half stepped out from whatever portable cellar he his under there. The snow white stallion flicked his tail, his hoof pounding against the wood. "Well, we can't really do anything now." He stroked his beard. "Go, eat, you must be starving."

As if on cue, Jane's stomach rumbled.
