Chapter 10

Still Kitani's POV:
"Care to explain why you're here Gaara?" I asked puffing my chest out. "Well, why wouldn't I be here, I'm doing this test as well you know." He rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Hmph. Well, what do you want, I'm not carrying the scrolls," He laughed, like he saw me as a fool. "I'm not after your scrolls. We already have our own." He chuckled. "Well, you might as well head back to your teammates, Kuro's about to wake up." My eyes widened and I ran past Gaara shoving him to the side and back to Sakura. "Has anyone awoken yet?" I looked over at Kuro, her ears were twitching. I put the bucket of water down and knelt down beside her.

Kuro's POV:
I was weary, I couldn't open my mouth or my eyes even though I so wanted to do so. "Kuro?" I heard a voice say, it was Kitani. I was able to open my eyes slightly as I saw the red eyes of the person I loved. "She's awake," Kitani hugged me tight, like I died or something. "Are you okay?" He asked me, his voice cracking a bit. "I-I'm fine..." I whispered, hugging him back. "W-What happened?.... and why's Gaara here?" I asked stuttering a bit. "I don't know why Gaara's here, but what happened was that you got bitten by this Orochimaru dude, we had to hide you in a tree to keep you safe." Kitani explained helping me up as my legs started to tremble. "Kitani? Who are they?" I asked pointing to three chunins from the Sound Village arriving. "Oh god.."

Fights have been finished, friends have lost... but I've stayed up. "K-Kuro..." Kitani gasped as his blood turned into a puddle. "Don't worry, Kitani... I'll get everyone safe.... Gaara! Get everyone to safety.... I know what to do...." I ordered. "You better not be using that seal Kuro." Gaara growled as he pulled everyone up into trees. "Well,  that's my last chance right now, NOW GET OUT!!!" I yelled putting my fingers into the hand sign. Gaara and the other groups hid away and my eyes turned crimson. "REAPER SEAL!" I yelled unsheathing my katana and slicing the air and attempting to kill the Sound Chunin. 

But they didn't die. "Kuro... It didn't work..." Gaara said appearing next to me. Why, why didn't it work. Why didn't they die. "Why didn't it work. If it worked with the Moon Village it should've worked with them. This is~....." I fell back too tired to even stand up. "Kuro!" Kitani called jumping down from the tree and helping me up into his arms. 

"Kuro, we need to get to the tower now, there's no stopping now, we need to get there quickly. I'll carry you if I have to. But we have to go now. C'mon get on my back, and let's go."
