Back again! ;)

You wake up with a pounding headache, the pain of your leg and side not even registering for at least a couple seconds. Looking around slowly, you spot Clint on the other side, back turned to you in front of his counter. Weakly, you squint your E/C eyes and call out, "Clint?" Your voice is scratchy, and all the pain in your side comes crashing into you, multiplied tenfold by the jolting throb of your head.

Quickly, Clint turns, his eyes widening in surprise. "Y/N? You okay? You've been asleep for a while..." He trails off, inspecting you closely. Fidgeting uncomfortably, you ask him just how long you've been out.

"Two weeks. I think you overused the last of your strength getting yourself, Newt, and Ben to the door. None of us know how you did that," Clint comments softly, wonder in his voice. At this, you remember why you're injured and what happened to you and the two boys. A lump appears in the back of your throat, but you fight it off. You need to know what's happened.

"Where's Newt? And Ben? Are they okay?" Clint stares at you for a second, then chuckles strangely.

"They're fine: They got out of here a while ago. Newt only had some minor injuries and a small concussion, and Ben was just overly exhausted with a small gash; nothing to worry about!" You nod slowly, thankful that your hard fighting has paid off. "Oh, and you have a concussion, a badly sprained leg, and a giant gash in your side," He tells you, concern in his eyes. You're horrified, but only for a second until another thought comes to your mind, making dread hit you like a brick.

"What about Alby? He's got to be angry with me for going into the maze like that. Can I know my punishment?" You sit in silence, while Clint gazes at you, a very tiny smile in place on his lips. He cocks his head and tells you, "Don't you think all your injuries are enough? We all do, even Gally. You broke one rule, and you did get punished for it, as you can feel, but you saved Newt and Ben. They wouldn't have made it without you. Though I don't have the final say, only Alby can give you that. Speaking of, he wanted me to get him as soon as you woke up... oops!" Clint says, breaking into a laugh. Suddenly, he grows serious again, though.

"If he gets mad, don't take it to heart," He says to you, taking hold of your hand. "Know that your actions were justified - and he ought to too!" With an authoritative look on his face, Clint leaves to grab the leader. You try to tell yourself that you did nothing wrong, to just believe Clint, but you can't. For some reason, you feel responsible.

Suddenly, the door slams open to reveal a troubled-looking Alby. "You've got me in a pinch here, Greenie -" "- Y/N," You correct. "Right, Y/N, you've got me in a pinch. Most of these stupid hormonal shanks want you to be released from punishment, but that welcomes others to do the same. We can't have these slintheads constantly running into the maze when they shouldn't be. So now I'm stuck." He sits down on a chair next to you, leaning forward. Clint - who had wandered in shyly after Alby - gets that he has no place in the room anymore, so he gets up, mouths 'sorry', and hurries out. When you finally meet Alby's gaze, it has softened just a bit.

"Look, Y/N, I know you've just awoken, and you're probably wondering what's going on, but I need to settle this as quickly as possible. These boys are so desperate for a girl that they've stopped working. They're going on strike, Y/N. For you. So, together, we need to decide what to do."

You stare back at Alby for a minute, considering all your options. When you think of the best solution, you tell him.

"If you keep me prisoner, or banish me, or kill me or whatever it is you would do, the guys won't stay under control. I say that you let me become a Runner, to off-set the fact that I wasn't allowed in the maze. I did find a new section," You say proudly. Alby continues to stare at you, his stern expression not changing once throughout your whole proposal.
