chapter 22

*Hunter's POV*

I sat on the couch waiting for Dakoda to come back from the auto place to get his truck fixed. "This is all my fault" I quietly said outloud to myself. None of this would've happened if I never showed up in his life, I ruined his life. I brought my knees to my face and cried. Whoever is out there wants me, not him. The longer I stay here the more danger I'm putting him in. I stand up pacing the floor. I can't leave now, he's gonna be coming back anytime now. I run my hands through my hair and sighed. I heard a door slam and I quickly went back on the couch and acted like I was asleep. I didn't want to face him right now, I might start crying and that won't be good. I heard the keys unlock the door and open then shut. I heard him sigh and walk over to me.
"Princess, wake up" he said. I was about to burst into tears. I felt his arms wrap around me and lift me in the air. He walked to his room and layed me on the bed and covered me up. Stay strong, don't break. I was saying over and over in my head to keep me from crying until he leaves. He kissed my forehead and whispered I love you so quietly I probably would've missed it if I wasn't straining to hear. I felt him get off the bed and closed the door behin him. When I saw that the coast was clear I went into a bawling mess. I'm really gonna miss him. Maybe I dont have to leave.. BUT I have to or else he'll be in more danger. I was arguing with myself about that till I slowly drifted to sleep.

I woke up and it was pitch black. I strained my eyes in the darkness till I could make out my surroundings. I looked next to me and saw a sleeping Dakoda. His hair was a mess and fallen into his face. I moved it away and looked at him. I felt the tears coming but I blinked them back. "The longer you take the more you'll convince yourself to stay" I whispered and shook my head from my thoughts. I got up and went across the hallway to my room and packed what i would need and left everything else. I didn't pack that much just some clothes, a charger, and a few more essentials that I would need and quietly grabbed my shoes and walked to the door. I sat everything down and went to put on my shoes when I heard a door crack and I froze. Shit! I hurried and put my shoes on and turned to leave when there was a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to face him. I thought I would've gotten away with leaving in the middle of the night, but I guess not. But when I turned around it wasn't Dakoda that was there.
He smirked, "And where do you think you're going?" He said. I went to scream, maybe that would  up Dakoda, but he was quicker and had his hand on m mouth then did this weird thing and ended up with his arm around my neck and hand over my mouth. He put his mouth up to my ear and whispered, "now that wouldn't be a smart thing to do, now would it?" I felt his nasty breath fanning on my neck. He looked down at my things I packed and smirked.
"Looks like you made my job easier" he said and grabbed my bag and dragged me outside. He took me to a car and threw my stuff in the back seat and took out a rope, and a ball gag and tied me up. He put the gag in my mouth than ducktaped it shut so i wouldn't make any noise and threw me in the trunk. "I just have one more thing to do..." He trailed off and I couldn't hear anything else, just the piercing sound of silence.
