Light and Fluffy (iii)

Regardless of the reason,
I said my thanks and cut myself
a portion of the stack.

Raising a forkful of the fluffy pancakes to my mouth,

I munched down happily,
letting the delicate texture spread on my taste buds.
Sweet from the syrup,
yet savory from the butter;
the tastes mixed together perfectly.
Delicious.

                "How is it?"

Mother asked, smiling sweetly.

              "Very good."

I answered after finishing my first bite.

"Have more then. There's plenty."

               She urged.

               And so I did.

Stack after stack, 

I consumed

until the memory of the taste
was all that was left at the table.
