"Are you guys sure this is a good idea heading over there without head of authority knowing anything?" One of the kids in on our plan nervously asked a bunch of questions after Zel and I informed them about how we were going to get this done. "Does it have to be tonight? I don't want to risk anything."

"Listen here you. As the eldest of Madame X and the General's kids, I say I've got enough authority to go around." I was getting a tad bit irritated that no one's mental was at the same level mine was at. I was about to go off when Zel mannered my behavior. "Com'on now Dex, no need to be hostile. They don't even have to be here, they all chose to help us...help you." She glared at me until I addressed that she was right by rolling my eyes and then giving her an understanding look. "And yes Dulo, it must be tonight. The sooner we go the sooner we find things out to rescue our fellow mind seeker. Risk is what we're doing. To be brave you need to take risks and right now we all need to be brave, got it?" Everyone agreed on unison and we began heading for the garage to start up our transporters and begin transit to the old Z-tech location.

I mentally checked in with Finny to make sure that Mother was completely distracted and oblivious to the whole operation. She had plenty of time to hate me later, now was time for action and nothing was going to stop me. "Alright you guys, you know the drill, we leave two at a time as to not make much of a ruckus, got it? Let's go on then." I ordered. After reassurance from my sister that this was going to be a success, the team began rolling out. Zel and I were the last pair to leave. I swept the area really quickly making sure Tilly wasn't hiding out somewhere down here waiting to snitch on us. The coast was clear. At least it seemed that way.

My eyes were closed and as I layed there thinking, I saw images flashing in my mind. Ones of smooth skin and dirty blonde hair, someone holding my hand and then a random folk. I stopped and focused my mind on the folk because it was so unusual. Why would images of a silver folk be in my head? As the folk became clearer in my mind I thought of eating and then using the folk to stab the next person that's gonna come to my door and open the hatch to hand me something. A little disturbing, I know...but I had to find some way to get out of here and down that hall way. I needed a plan, I needed Carly too. I wasn't getting out of here without her and if finding out what's really going on is a way to eventual freedom, then Harriet the spy was about to hire an accomplice for the first time in her life.

It was already passed the time for anyone to come to our rooms and of course, since I couldn't sleep, I spent the rest of the night thinking of ways to complete my mission. I was about to start pacing my room when I had a sudden epiphany. Sleep. I couldn't sleep, which meant I couldn't use my power. [What if Carly was right and I didn't feel my wrist band work because my powers are "off"?]
I said under the sound of my breath. I needed something, a powerful drug, to force myself to sleep and get outta here. The question was, how was I going to get it? I layed back down on my mattress and began brainstorming on my master plan of escape.

~~The Mind Seekers' Mission~~

It didn't take us very long to get to the location of the abandoned Z-tech facility. Although for a moment we thought we got duped cause there was nothing but a dead end road and a forest to the left of us.
"Umm, is this the right place?" Candy asked, her voice trembling nervously. "I'm sure of it, unless this GPS is bunkers and we've wasted valuable time." Was my response to her. Zel got off her transporter and started walking toward the opening of the forest, looking at the compass on her watch. We all stared at her anxiously moving forward until she disappeared. Silence.
"Guys come on!" "It's through here!" Zel yelled from between the trees. I then got off, grabbing my weapons and began to follow in my sister's tracks, the others doing the same behind me.
