Cars sped by as we sat on the side of the highway. This part was the perfect place to sit and relax when skipping class. We could see the cars, but the cars couldn't see us. A perfect yet average day.
She and I had decided to cut during lunch and we walked to our spot. There were two flat rocks, one for her and one for me. We talked a bit, but mainly just sat in silence. We enjoyed being together, but we also wanted to be alone to our thoughts, so I could feel her thinking deeply but I was also in deep thought.
This didn't make me any less shocked at her sudden proclamation.
"I love you."
