Many people knew of Mary, but none knew her. Only her son and her mouse.
Her son's name was Caleb, and her mouse's name was Twix. Sadly, she had only owned the mouse for a few weeks, ever since she had begun paying rent on time and she had saved up enough money. Her son had persistently asked for a pet his entire life, and now that he was nine, she decided he was old enough to help her look after a small creature. After some thought, fish seemed too look instead of touch, so she decided a little mouse would be perfect for Caleb. He loved Tulip as much as Mary did, and they were glad to have an addition to their small family. Besides aunt Amy, they didn't have anyone.
