Chapter 2: You'd do that for me?

Alex's POV

" no that's not the one !, why can't I find anything to wear" I say to myself in Zoe's closet.

I usually don't stress about which outfit to wear out to dinner and stuff but for some reason tonight, tonight is making me freak out more than a camelion in a bag of skittles !

I don't know why so don't ask. It's not what you're thinking, I would never have a crush on my best friends brother. Or, do I? No that's crazy I just met him . But you know when you feel that instant connection with someone, well I feel that with Joe. Oh man listen too me! I'm a wreck! But why? Maybe I really do like Joe? I guess we'll find out at dinner. Enough of my babbling, what am I going to wear? I got it I'll just wear a simple blue blouse with a black leather jacket and black formal jeans with black heel boots.

Back to reality

Alex walks out into the living room the same time as Zoe.

" oh my you look amazing! " says Zoe.

" Me? Look at you! And I just threw this on "  says Alex trying to hide the fact that she actually cared about her outfit.

" mhmm, anyways I got a text from Alfie and they're at the restaurant. So we should go before joe gets impatient haha" Says Zoe checking her phone then opening the door.

" Alright! Oh Zoe, is there any reason you planned this dinner? Asks Alex.

" maybe" says Zoe walking out there door " Come on let's go"

At the restaurant

" it's about time you guys got h- woah!" Says Joe looking at his watch then notices Alex.

As Alex walks out of the car Joe is staring at her as if it were Mila Kunis that walked out. Joe had just lost his cool and was looking for a way to get it back!

" um Joe are you okay? " Asks Alex as she waves her hand in front of his face .

" huh ? Yeah I'm cool as a cucumber " says Joe as he thinks to himself 'what an idiot thing to say' .

" Alright well if you're done being weird I'd love to go eat " Says Zoe

As they walk into the restaurant they notice that instead of 1 table for 4 they have 2 tables for 2, diagonal from each other.

" oh there is no table for 4?" Says Alex.

" I guess not, so I guess we have to split up " Says Zoe looking to Alfie and winking.

" okay, so who is going with who?" Asks Joe.

" Zoe you go with Alfie and I'll go with Joe " says Alex which causes Joe to drop his jaw them smile.

Once they get decided the "couples" head to their tables.

Joe's POV

I don't know what it is about tonight? I am normally pretty good with going to dinner with a girl or a group of friends, but tonight something or someone in throwing me off my game. I don't know what it is about Alex , she just makes me weak at my knees, kind of when you meet "the one". No, what am I saying she can't be " the one" I barely know her but she definitely has me feeling some type of way!

Back to reality

As they get to their tables Joe pulls out Alex's chair for her.

" why thank you" she says sitting down with a warm smile.

" why you're welcome " says Joe smiling back and also sitting down.

" So, Joe it's nice to finally meet you... again!" Says Alex.

" yes it is, I will never understand how we have never met before " says Joe in response

" I know it's crazy! I'm probably not supposed to tell you this but Zoe has some big plan for me tonight and I have no clue what it is " says Alex pondering.

" I honestly have no clue " says Joe " so how long are you in London for?"

" well it was supposed to be 1 week but now it looks like it will only be a day" Says Alex with a sigh.

" oh cool , wait! How come?" 

" well, my hotel room got sold and the have no other rooms, trying to find another hotel could take forever and Zoe has no room plus I wouldn't want to intrude" Says Alex playing with her napkin. " it sucks but what can I do".

" Oh man I'm really sorry. WAIT!  If you want to, you could stay with me?!' Says Joe looking for an answer

" what? Really? You would do that for me? No I couldn't intrude! " says Alex going through many different emotions

" yeah , you're a friend and I do anything to help a friend . Plus, I live alone, could use the company and have the space so you wouldn't be intruding! "

" oh wow Joe I don't know what to say. Thank you so much , I owe you one big time!" Says Alex.

As the night goes on they eat dinner and get to know each other better.  

After dinner  (at Zoe's)

" well Zoe I'm going to head home and call it a night. Alex you ready? " says Joe opening the door

" yeah I've got all my stuff" Says Alex

" ok good night...wait what do you mean Alex are you ready? " Says Zoe smiling wide.

" oh due to the hotel situation Alex is staying in my guest room for a couple weeks" Says Joe smiling at Alex.

" ah okay, so my plan worked, you are welcome!  Wait, I thought you were only staying for a week Alex?" Says Zoe

" I was planning on it,  but my folks are going on vacation so I thought why not stay here another week with you guys instead of an empty house with just me? " Says Alex

" True, now let's go I'm tired" Says Joe laughing

" well I'm glad you're staying longer!  Now go before he falls over! I'll see you tomorrow! Bye " Says Zoe.

" Bye!" Says Alex and Joe at the same time.

"Let's go home" Says Joe. 

As they leave Alex thinks about the evening and reflects on her and Joe.

They reach the apartment and go inside and Joe shoes her to her room, tucks her in and all she can think about is what is to come with these new arrangements?
