Chapter 4: Soon

Alex's POV 

*yawn*

" what time is it?"  I say to myself

I look at the clock and it reads 6:00 am! Man why am I up so early on a Sunday? Well I couldn't sleep much last night,  I kept tossing and turning. I'm not tired enough to go back to sleep and I don't want to wake Joe up by watching TV, what can I do?  I know I'll go for a walk outside and grab a tea.

I get up and put on a pair of sweat pants and vans and a goodie and make my way quietly to the living room. As soon I make it down the stairs I see a light on. So, I walk into the living room and see Joe sitting on the couch in sweat pants and sneakers. Before I can say anything he gets up and says,

" good morning Alex"  in a very chipper mood.

" good morning Joe,  what are doing up so early?" I say confused but with a smile

" I couldn't sleep last night,  and woke up at 5:30 so I figured why not go for a walk" says Joe 

" really I was just going to go for a walk too"

" oh, did you want to go together? " asks Joe shyly

" sure,  if you want too?" I say unsure

" it's a da - deal" says Joe trying to save himself from almost saying date. " Let's go then."

After that we leave and start walking,  things are cold and awkward,  hopefully they don't stay like this the whole time I guess we'll see. 

Back to reality 

Alex and Joe reach Starbucks and grab a tea and a coffee. They pay and continue on their way. But what they did not realize was that Zoe and Alfie were there as well.

" do you think they saw us?" Says Zoe

" no they were to busy looking at each other" says Alfie

" they would be the perfect couple, they just need a push." Says Zoe

"Uh oh I smell a plan " says Alfie.

With that they follow Joe and Alex who are headed back to their apartment.

" Hey, Joe this has been,  awkward, are we going to talk about yesterday night? " Asks Alex looking at the ground

" I was hoping you'd ask, what is this piece of paper supposed to mean " soon" , I don't get it? " says Joe confused

" it means exactly what you think" says Alex drinking her tea. 

" oh , oooh" says Joe smile

" I do have bad news though, my family's vacation got canceled and they want me home early for some family reunion " says Alex

" oh man that sucks, so when do you have to leave ?" Asks Joe

" today actually, well tonight,  but I'll be back, eventually " says Alex with a sigh 

" that's so close..." says Joe

" I know they just sprung all of this on me, I wish I lived in London it would make my life much simpler" says Alex laughing

" I wish you lived in London too.." Says Joe blushing " I mean cause we're pretty good friends.."

" thanks, maybe on day soon "  says Alex looking at the paper

" hm? Oh! Cool" says Joe " let's head home it's starting to rain 

At Joe's house 2 hours before Alex's flight

" do you have everything ? " asks Joe

" yes, hey thanks again for letting me stay here I really owe you one" says Alex hugging Joe. 

Expecting her to let go Alex hugs Joe tighter. Joe embraces her hug and continues , they hug for 30 seconds then gaze at each other awkwardly. 

" well I should be going , thanks and I'll see you soon " says Alex waving and leaving.

With that she makes it on her flight looking out the window at the city of London as she flies thousands of miles above and she thinks to herself, of all the people in the city, none of them made her feel the same way as one in particular,  Joe Sugg.

She knew she had to come back , and SOON
