chapter 6: we'll see

* CHIRP* *CHIRP *
" mmm" Alex mumbles while she sits up in her bed and stretches. " what time is it?"

As she reaches over to check her alarm clock, she gets a notification which turns on her phone. She looks down and the time is 5:00 am. She looks at the notification only to see a tweet from a friend back home.

" well since it's early and I'm wide awake, I might as well take advantage of it! I'm going to go for a jog! " She says changing into jogging clothes.

With her tights and had die and vest on with her black and white nikes, she heads out the door.

She gets outside and smells the morning dew on the grass and in the air. She can feel the morning breeze on her face as she jogs down the street.  As she jogged she kept wondering why and how she was so awake and full of energy , then it dawned on her that today was her first date , date with Joe.

She jogs for 2 hours and heads home by 7 am. As soon as she gets in the door , she just happens to get a phone call.

Alex: Joe? Hey! What are you doing up this early?

Joe: I could be asking you the same question! (Chuckle). And hey! Anyway,  are you dressed by any chance?

Alex: no, but I can be in 5 minutes,  why?

Joe: good! Meet me at my house, in half an hour! 

Alex: ok, may I ask why? (Chuckle)

Joe: No! It's a surprise, see you soon!

With that he hangs up. Alex then puts her phone down, gets ready and head's over to Joe's place.

At Joe's Apartment

Joe opens the door just as Alex is about to knock. 

" hi! I'm here now why is it you wanted me here, and so early too? " says Alex

" You forgot already? Well I gotta say I'm kinda hurt!" Says Joe pretending to be upset.

" forget what? " after thinking for a few seconds, she puts it together. " you mean our date? How could I forget. " Says Alex with a smile

" good, I couldn't forget either. Which is why I called you here so early. This is going to sound really cheesy, but I was too excited,  and didn't want to wait so if it's alright with you, I would like to start the date now and finish at the end of the day" Says Joe nervous

" aw Joe, you're going to make me blush! Of course we can, what's first?!"

" you're already blushing! And breakfast,  I'm starved " Says Joe rubbing his belly. " I'm basically ready except I just need to change my shirt, would you mind throwing me the one folded on the couch?"

" no problem" Says Alex

As she turns around to grab the shirt, she turns back around to find Joe shirtless and ends up staring more than intended.

" um Alex, the shirt?" Says Joe laughing

" huh? Oh yeah... right " says Alex getting a glass of water.

" haha . Now let's go eat" Says Joe. 

They go eat breakfast, talking and laughing away. They look at the time and it is 11:00.

" oh we better go!" Says Joe

" go where?" Says Alex smiling

" to the festival going on in the park" says Joe

" I've been reading about that,  it looks so fun." Says Alex

" then vaminos" says Joe laughing

They head to the festival in the park where there are vendors and rides. They buy passes to get on the rides,  they go on many rides and look at many vendors, laughing and talking while playing games. One game in particular, required shooting, which isn't Alex's strong suit. She held the fun and missed the first shot.

That was when Joe came and put his arms around Alex and helped her shoot and hold the gun properly. They stand there with little space between them, and they shoot and win a prize.

" hey we won!" Says Alex hugging Joe.

" yeah we did. We make a petty good team." Says Joe hugging back.

" well what's next it's ... 6:00! Wow time flies when you're having fun! " says Alex chuckling

" well, there is this movie out that I want to see..." says Joe

" sure. What movie ?" Says Alex with her usual smile

" Beauty and the Beast... " says Joe shrugging his shoulders.

" really? I want to see that really bad" says Alex laughing

" oh okay it's settled then, we're going to see beauty and the beast!"

They head over the movie theater and buy popcorn and drinks.

During the movie, they share a very cheesy yet romantic moment. Alex puts her hand in the popcorn at the same time as Joe does. Their hands touch and they end up holding hands , looking at each other smiling then go back to the movie, still linking hands. 

" the movie was so good, then original is one of my favorites of all time." Says Alex

" I really like it too, I love the storyline and how it shows that it doesn't matter what's on the outside but what's on the inside is what truly matters in love" Says Joe

" I agree , goes to show never judge a book by its cover, because you never truly know the words on the page until you read them" Says Alex realizing that she and Joe are still holding hands. 

Alex looks down at their hands then glances back at Joe. He does the same. Thinking they should let go, the don't. 

" hey, do you want to come over and maybe play fifa? " asks Joe

" sure, and I think you mean beat you at fifa!" Says Alex laughing

" we'll see " says Joe.

They head to Joe's and play for 2 hours. The time is now 10:00 and Alex is asleep on the couch.

" she is so cute when she is asleep, but I don't want her to sleep on this couch" says Joe quietly

Joe then picks her up and carries her to his bed, lays her down and throws the blanket over her and kissing her on the cheek.

" good night Alex, I had a lot of fun tonight. If only you knew how much I really liked you. You'll find out soon enough " says Joe stroking her hand then walking out into the living room.

From in the room

" thanks Joe,  for the best first date I've ever had! And I do know, if only you knew how much I really like you, you'll find out soon enough." Says Alex quietly. " goodnight Joe"
