"So the reason I filed the request," the pink haired girl, who's name was Melissa, began, "Is not only because there have been several cases of thieves, but they seem to be thieves with magical powers and since we don't happen to have a guild of our own, I thought Fairy Tail would be a great option."

"Good thing you picked us because we're number 1, gi-hi," Gajeel smirked forgetting Camilla was sitting there.

"Hold on a minute, you mean to tell me, you're in that guild??" The long haired blunette questioned, "Since when??"

"Since Phantom Lord's defeat," Gajeel said, "After you left a lot of stuff happened.." He met eyes with Levy and then looked away ".. A lot of stuff."

Levy knew what event specifically the dragon slayer was thinking about.

"Hey," she said before she changed her mind about it, "I told you, it's okay." She gave him a warm smile and placed her hand on top of his.

"Huh?" Camilla said feeling left out. It had been years since she had left Phantom Lord herself and seen Gajeel and of course she never expected to see him again but now that she did, he seemed different, kinder, more caring, especially towards the Fairy Tail script mage.

"So about this job," Lily said trying to make things not so awkward, "What information do you have on the wizard thieves?"

"Well," Melissa began, "We've figured out they're attacking in some sort of pattern and they're stealing many different things."

"I see," Levy said concentrating on her job.

"We don't know why these things are happening but we'd all prefer it if it would stop," the pink haired girl said.

"Thank you for the information," Levy smiled at Melissa.

"Of course, if you happen to want anymore information I'd be happy to help, I'll be here tomorrow volunteering for most of the day," Melissa smiled back and headed to the front desk to ask for more work.

"You're here on a Fairy Tail job request?" Camilla asked a little condescending.

Levy frowned at the snobbish remark and the dragon slayer took quick notice.

"What of it?" He quickly said a little irritated at the comment as well.

"I just didn't think you'd join that guild," Camilla said insensitively, "Not only were they our rivals but it's full of irritating people."

Levy couldn't hold back anymore and immediately went off at Camilla.

"Look here you," she began, "I don't know who you think you are but you do not degrade Fairy Tail's name or its members. You have no right to speak of a guild you don't know about. You want to know why Phantom Lord parted? Because it was full of people who only wanted to be in it for their own benefit. Title. Power. Fairy Tail is strong because we protect our comrades. And that includes Gajeel. A lot may have happened in the past but Gajeel has changed. I've seen it. And if you don't believe me ask him yourself. I'm sure he can tell you."

Levy sent all of the books she had finished back into place.

"Lily," she opened her arms and the exceed snuggled into them. "We're going to the hotel room if you need us. Gajeel, here's your card key, knock before entering."

Gajeel caught the small card in an envelope and nodded in confusion as to what had just happened.

The Fairy Tail script mage walked out of the library and headed back to the hotel.

"How dare she talk about my guildmates like that?" Levy muttered on her way out.

"Wow," Camilla said, "Can you believe her? You'd think she'd know how to behave in a library, being a bookworm and all."

"That's not what the problem was," the dragon slayer snapped back as the walked out of the library.

"Huh?"

"You have no idea do you?" Gajeel said, "You made her upset. You think just because she's small she wasn't going to defend our guild?"

"'Our guild'?"

"Yes our guild," Gajeel said irritated, "After joining Fairy Tail I realized how Phantom Lord fed you lies and fake promises. I'm not the only one, the water witch can agree that we're both in a much better place than before."

"Juvia joined too?" Camilla was really surprised at the new information she had just received, "I didn't think--"

"Will you stop it with your condescending remarks?" Gajeel said more angrily, "Look whatever happened in Phantom Lord is in the past. I'm in a much better place now and I've met several people who taught me what it was to want to take care of someone. Unlike Phantom Lord, Fairy Tail cares for each other, so do not degrade it."

"I bet if it wasn't for that other script mage, you wouldn't even be there," Camilla crossed her arms in frustration and Gajeel looked away. "All I was gonna say was, that I didn't that Fairy Tail would take people like you and I. You know, Phantom Lord members?"

"Makarov himself asked me to join the guild," Gajeel said, "They forgive those who need forgiveness. And as for the Shrimp.. whatever is decided is none of your concern."

"What?" Camilla's eyes widened, she thought if he saw her again and again, that maybe just maybe, he'd begin to care for her again. "You mean you don't care.. About me?"

"Huh?" Gajeel stopped in his tracks, "The hell are you talking about?? Of course I care. I just... I love her. Her light is brighter than anyone I've ever met before. She is the one they I need. I just don't know if she needs me."

Camilla smiled and tears poured out of her eyes. She fell to the floor crying.

"Dammit," she said softly, "And to think that fate could have led you to me for a second chance..."

"No," Gajeel said, "We ran into each other because we both needed to talk it out an let go." The dragon slayer walked in the direction of the hotel and disappeared beyond the horizon.

Camilla picked herself back up and wiped her tears. There was no reason to hold back this time.

"That went well," a tall dark shadowy figure walked up from behind.

"After all this time," Camilla sobbed, "he still won't forgive me."

"I'm sure you will keep your end of the deal now," he replied.

"As promised," Camilla said and the figure disappeared in the shadows.

"Melissa!" Camilla shouted.

"Milady," the pink haired girl apparated in front of Camilla with a hand over her chest as a sign of loyalty.

"Begin preparations for the take over, there's no more need for the waiting."

"Yes milady," the pink haired girl disappeared to do as commanded.

"You will not be disappointed master," Camilla said wickedly. She looked down at the ground and tears formed in her eyes. "I'm sorry."
