Gajeel was hurrying to the guild with Pantherlily.
"Hurry up!" Gajeel said out of breath.
"I'm trying." The little feline said flying up behind him. "I'm not exactly sure why it is that you want to try and be there before Levy."
"Well. I told you last night. I want to invite her on a job in the next town over." Gajeel said blushing a bit.
"Mhmm." Lily smirked. "Are you sure it isn't because of that cute cafe we saw the other day on that other job request a few weeks ago?"
Instead of answering, Gajeel picked up his speed.
A few minutes later they arrived at the guild and saw that Levy was walking in. Gajeel stopped to catch his breath.
Levy noticed the worn out dragon slayer and blushed but greeted him to be polite.
"Good morning Gajeel," she said a little bit shy, "out for a morning run?"
Before answering, the dragon slayer thought up of what to say. "Yeah. I actually got here a bit earlier than usual so Lily and I decided to take a short run around."
Lily looked at Gajeel and smiled. "Mhmm." He said going with the flow.
"That's nice," Levy said, "I just got my hand on this new book so I could strengthen my solid script magic." Levy smiled proudly showing Gajeel the book.
"Shrimp, you're gonna turn into a book or somethin because you read so much," Gajeel said looking at the book then at the script mage.
"I am not!" Levy said blushing, "And quit calling me Shrimp!" Levy turned and walked into the guild followed by Lily.
"Nice going iron face," a familiar voice said from behind him.
It was Natsu and Happy was behind him.
"Shut up flame for brains," Gajeel said turning around, "I don't have time to deal with ya. I have a job to go on."
"Good morning Gajeel, Natsu, Happy," Lucy said arriving at the guild hall holding Plue.
"Aye!" Happy said.
"Mornin, Luce!" Natsu lightened up after frowning at Gajeel, "Hey wanna go on a job??"
"Mornin," Gajeel responded.
'Looks like I ain't the only one after... What are you thinking Redfox!?' The iron dragon slayer thought to himself.
"Natsu," Lucy said, "I'd love to but I haven't eaten breakfast yet."
"Well eat some food and then we'll go! Right Happy??" Natsu exclaimed with enthusiasm.
"Aye sir!" The blue feline replied.
Natsu put his arm around Lucy and leaded her into the guild hall. Just before entering he turned around and stuck his tongue out at Gajeel.
"Natsu stop making faces at Gajeel!" Lucy exclaimed.
"Sorry, sorry Luce," Natsu apologized with a chuckle.
"That idiot," Gajeel said.
"Well, at least he made a move," Lily said flying back outside, "Now it's your turn. Go ask Levy if she wants to go on that job request."
"Right," Gajeel said walking into the guild.
He searched for the small blunette in the large crowd of Fairy Tail members. He saw Juvia and Gray talking about their next job request, near the bar and Erza and Mira chatting about strawberry shortcake recipes. At last he spotted the blunette and made his way over with the paper of the job he had chosen.
"Hey Shrimp," he demanded Levy's attention.
"I said to quit calling me that," she replied with her nose stuck in the book from earlier.
"Yeah, yeah," Gajeel said. He placed the piece of paper in front of Levy. "Let's go on this job. It's in the next town over. I know it's a 2 night stay and stuff but... There's a bunch of solid script books over there and I thought you might be interested."
The blunette looked at the paper while Gajeel explained.
Her eyes widened.
"So do you wanna go?" Gajeel asked.
"Yes!" She quickly replied. 'Time to spend with him, books, and money all at once... And...' She thought to herself. 'Calm yourself Levy. It's just job request... Nothing more.'
"Yeah I'll go with you," she replied again, "I've been wanting to get my hand on more books." She blushed and smiled.
"Great." Gajeel said excitedly. "I mean," he blushed, "That's great! We'll both benefit. I'll meet you at the train station later today??"
"Mhmm," the blunette responded smiling.
"Ok I'll see you later." Gajeel walked out of the guild smiling. She had said yes.
