For so many years I've found myself in the prison world being all caught up in being the person that matches society's expectations and standards. In result, I lost sight of my true self. I lost the real and true happiness within myself and outside.
I was a fake, I wasn't being true to myself because I was giving in and being someone that I'm not and wasn't standing up for myself like an act of self love. If I love myself enough, I'm gonna stand up for myself when I'm being mistreated and to say so.
Like Callie said in her impassioned speech at her court hearing to be adopted by real parents in which she truly deserves. Especially with her speech: so inspiring!
"When your lucky, it is your job to give something back. And when you see something wrong, to stand up and to say so. I'm not gonna apologize for standing up. Somebody has to." – Callie
