Chapter 6: "First Date"

~Hayes' POV~

The walk to the hill took foreeeeevvvveeeerrrr. I felt like we were walking for hours even though it was a few minutes. I noticed that Acacia has been around a little bit more lately. I also noticed Nash wasn't minding it and was always around when she was.

Lately we've been talking more. Acacia was funnier than I remember. I felt like she was turning into my best friend. Which is weird but it was okay. Her and Nash were two years older. Sixteen and fourteen. Not the best age for best friends. I whispered to myself.

I looked up and saw Skylynn already going down the hill on her stomach. She was laughing. I saw Acacia get on the sled followed by Nash. He pushed them off the hill and they went flying. They fell off the sled laughing. I couldn't help but laugh at them covered in snow. I grabbed the sled and ran up the hill.

"Acacia come down with me!!!!" I yelled down at her. She ran up as quick as she could.

"Hey Hayes. Can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah?"

"Is Nash always this nice?"

"Only when he likes a girl."

"Oh." She said before pushing us down the hill. I felt her arms wrap around me.

We yelled at the top of our lungs. We ended up turning around and not seeing where we were going. Before me knew it I heard someone scream. I turned around and saw Acacia on the floor. I grabbed my phone out and took a picture instead of helping her.

~Nash's POV~

I knew what Hayes was doing. He was trying to get me jealous. Like always. I was kind of mad because Acacia had her arms around him hugging him tight. The smile on there faces was what made me mad. I wanted her to hug me like that. But it was the other way around. My fourteen year old brother was getting hugged by a sixteen year old. My anger built up until Skylynn asked to go down with me.

"Nash. Do you like Caci?"

"What?"

"Is Caci your girl friend?"

"No. Sky who told you to ask me?"

"Me. Cause I like her."

"No. She's just a friend. Ready?"

"Duh!" Skylynn said in her sassy voice.

"Hey Nash!" Acacia yelled from the top.

"Yeah?!"

"LETS RACE!! GIRLS VERSUS GUYS!!"

"OKAY!"

I ran up the hill and handed the sled to her. She took Skylynn's hand and sat her in the front. I made Hayes go in front of me. And then we all went. The girls scream so loud while Hayes and I just laughed. In the end Skylynn and Acacia won.

"Nash I have to pee."

"Hayes take her to the bathroom."

"Okay." He grabbed her hand and walked away.

I saw Acacia walking towards me. I fixed my hair quick. She smiled and I couldn't help myself. I started leaning in. Before I knew it our lips touched. We didn't pull away instead we got closer to each other. I placed my hands on her cheeks. We pulled away after a minute or so. I looked towards my left and saw Hayes giving me a 'WHAT THE HELL' look. I felt my cheeks turn red. I know I was going to get shit for it.
