Standing at the entrance of the club, Corbin at my side while Fino and Miranda stood not far behind us.

I turned to Corbin and raised an eyebrow; a few days ago the guy wouldn’t even look at me, now he’s holding hands with me?

“Care to explain why you have just suddenly taken an interest in me?”

I sounded quite cocky, but I was currently speaking to the king of cockiness.

He smiled lightly at me, his grey eyes sparkling as the midnight black night floated around him. His dark brown hair moving softly with the wind.

“Well dear Ams, you are quite an interesting girl, well more immortal being, and what man would I be not to take interest in a gorgeous girl like yourself.”

His smile widened and almost brightened as he scanned me up and down for at least the hundredth time.

“What man would you be? Well if we are going to get all technical here, you are not really a man. More a half breeds between mutt and human.”

I shrugged as I finished my sentence and looked up at the now insulted looking Corbin.

He grunted before letting go of my hand and stalking off toward two shadowed figures that were walking down the street towards us.

A frown passed over my face before I turned around to talk to Fino and Miranda.

I’m very sure these guys are soul mates, just not sure if a dog can be mates with a blood sucking monster, isn’t really something I take an interest in.

They stood side-by-side. Fino’s arm wrapped tightly around Miranda’s slim waist. Miranda’s head rested on his shoulder as they both watched Corbin meet with the two figures that I still could not see faces of.

“Fino, can we please go in? It’s minus twenty three out here!”

My excuse we pretty lame. Vampires don’t feel the cold unless it’s a sudden temperature change, like if prey walks in, the air will heat up.

To try and prove that I could feel the cold, I tried to make my teeth chatter and hugged my arms around my abdomen.

Fino shook his head while a playful smile was on his lips.

“Ams, seriously? That doesn’t even count as an excuse, but go on in if you want, just be careful.”

His features turned seriously as I mocked saluted him and put on my deep Army commander’s voice:

“Yes sir.”

And with that I spun toward the club entrance and zipped past the security in the space of a second.
