[Maria's POV]

Patrick's been watching every move Jordan made with pride and admiration. Jordan raced back to him once she was done with Will, and wrapped her arms around his neck. Patrick gripped her slender waist and pulled her closer then connected their lips. Patrick pulled away and grabbed her ass. "God, I love you!" Patrick exclaimed passionately. He then whispered something in her ear which caused her to smile.

Easily, Jordan pulled the gun from her waistband and shot the last employee who was standing quietly behind me. She aimed the weapon at me. The barrel of the gun pointed right at my chest.

"Everything you put the both of us through," she snarled and took a step closer. A flame burned angrily in Jordan's eyes that I never expected to see from her. Instinctually, I backed up while she came forward. "You fucked the both of us over and you fucked yourself and those kids by coming here, y'know that? Their blood is on your hands."

My heart beat faster and faster and my chest felt like it was going to explode any moment. "No, Jordan. You killed both of them. It didn't have to be like this. Put the gun down," I demanded. I admit, I was absolutely petrified but the first rule of dealing with patients is to never reveal your feelings to them. They will toy with you.

Jordan looked back at Patrick and waited for his nod of approval. She was facing away from me, absentmindedly playing with her gun. It was my only chance to escape. I pulled out my handgun, aimed directly at her, then closed my eyes. I turned my head away and pulled the trigger.

Patrick shrieked. "You killed her!" I opened my eyes and looked down at Jordan's body in shock. Patrick shouted at me with tears in his eyes. "You actually shot her!"

"I... I..." I couldn't form words. My mouth opened and closed silently like a fish. I watched Patrick kneel down next to Jordan and run his fingers through her hair.

As id on cue, Laurel burst in through the doorway accompanied by a group of police officers. Sirens wailed outside of the warehouse that I hadn't noticed before. My mind was numb.

The officers burst through the doorway yelling to each other. They secured the area before rushing over to me. Their guns were drawn and pointed at the ground. I did as the officers instructed and kept my mouth shut.

"Ma'am, my name is Officer Crutchley. What's yours?" He said the words clearly, but I still didn't comprehend them. His bright blue eyes contrasted his dark brown hair. "Miss? Are you alright?"

"What?"

"Are you alright?" He repeated gently. I slowly shook my head and dropped my stare to the floor. "What's your name?"

"Maria," I whispered.

"Alright Maria, will you tell me what happened?" His voice was soft. His hand rested on my shoulder which, somehow, brought me comfort.

"Um," before I could say anything else, Laurel's arms wrapped around me.

"Patrick Stump kidnapped Jordan Montana and hid her in this warehouse for a year," Laurel explained. I was grateful for her presence considering she was in much better shape than me. "Jordan killed Will and then I ran. I called the cops but don't know what happened afterwards."

"And you said your name is..." Crutchley trailed off, waiting for her to finish his sentence.

"I didn't. I'm Laurel," she stated easily.

"Jordan also shot him too," I piped up and pointed at my other employee's body that sat untouched on the floor. "Jordan pulled a gun on me and I shot her-"

"Self defense," Crutchley interrupted. "Okay, so I can take Patrick in for kidnapping and accessory to murder, Laurel reported the incident, and Maria used self defense." He chewed on the back of his pen as he looked over the notes in a small pad of paper, analyzing them quietly.

Crutchley nodded toward Patrick and two other officers began to cuff his hands behind his back.

Patrick grinned at me impishly. "I'm going to plea insanity!" He hollered. A devilish laugh echoed through the warehouse as they lead Patrick outside and into a police car.

The question I get asked most often is if I went back to work at Crest Ridge. The answer is yes. I trained for years to get to where I am today. I'm not going to let one incident scare me away from the patients that I've known for what seems like forever.
