I wake up laying on something soft. Without opening my eyes I run my hands along the soft material I was on. It felt like a bed. I decide I must have gotten home last night and passed out again I think to myself smiling before snuggling back into the soft bed.
"Wake up sleepy head" somebody in the room says. I decide the voice is my own imagination and I ignore it. "Honestly how much did you drink?" The voice continues but I decide to ignore it again.
Suddenly I feel someone tugging at the bed covers. Ok that definitely wasn't my imagination. Come to think of it when was my bed this comfortable? I force my eyes open despite the fact every inch of my body was telling me to go back to sleep. I notice a shadowy figure across the bed. As my eyes adjusted to the light I soon noticed it was just Rochelle. Which must mean I never got home. Question is whose bed was I in and how did I get here? I shake my head before attempting to sit up. My head felt like it was exploding. I would have promised to never drink that much again but I knew I would be kidding myself. Anyway back to the matter in hand..
"What the hell am I doing here?"I almost squeak before putting my 'deeper' voice back on. "What happened?"
"You passed out after the game and Tobey thought it would be best for you to sleep it off. He helped you up here" she smiles.
Images of Tobey carrying me in his strong arms and placing me on the bed floods my mind. And I wasn't even awake! I have no luck. I pout at the thought before turning back to Rochelle.
"So what are you doing in here?" I ask.
"I just wanted to see that you were ok..." she smiles. "And I guess I just felt like talking to someone. I think I can trust you. I mean I haven't even known you like a week but that makes it so much easier. You're the first guy I've trusted since Mike" she whispers.
This was totally it. My undercover mission has paid off. I will finally get back to being Robyn again. I smile to myself before putting on a serious face and turning back to Rochelle.
"Mike?" I ask sincerely.
"My ex. I mean I guess I shouldn't tell you this really."
"No go on. What happened?" I push.
"He was amazing. Perfect in every way" she carries on.
"So can I ask what happened?"
"It wasn't his fault. I guess I just felt jealous of his friend."
"Oh really?" I ask.
"He'd spend every waking moment with her when he was not with me. He'd drop plans just to help her. I mean what boyfriend does that!" she almost shouts. I guess she was on about me.
"They're probably just friends...just a guess" I try to add helpfully.
"Oh I don't think anything happened or would happen. I mean I'm pretty sure she's like into girls or something."
"What! I mean what, what makes you say that?" I ask abruptly.
"Mike says she's never had a boyfriend and I've only seen her briefly a long time ago but she had this short hair and she wore these really baggy guys clothes."
"Wow stereotyping much?" I mumble to myself.
"And why I'm telling you all this and what I really want to say is I just need to forget about it all and move on" she whispers into my ear before moving a little too close for comfort. She still smelt strongly of alcohol. Maybe she was still a little drunk...I hoped.
"Whoa girl" I say trying to push her away.
"Oh come on don't tell me you like Amber instead?" she asks offended.
"No! I don't like anyone because...well because I like guys" I say thinking of the only thing I could.
"Well that changes things."
"Yes it does. Now if you excuse me I'm leaving!" I practically yell before walking out of the door and running the hell away from this crazy house.
I ran as quickly as I could to the only place I should which was Mikes house. Trying to regain my breath I knock on the door and wait for a reply. Unlike Mike entering someone's house without knocking was just rude. Slowly the door opens. Mikes eyes widen.
"Sooo?" He asks allowing me to walk in. I turn to him.
"It was hell" I reply. "I can't believe you talked me into it!"
"But?" He pushes me.
"Call up Jack and I'll tell you everything and I mean everything."
Whilst waiting for Jack to arrive I wash myself up as best as I could trying to get rid of the taste of alcohol.
"Jacks here!" Mike calls and we all retreat to Mikes gaming den.
"You smell like a brewery" Jack says sitting down next to me.
"Thanks" I say sarcastically.
"So what happened?" Mike asks
"Well firstly you need to pay me extra for what I had to do last night..." I pause wondering whether I should tell them everything. Jack and Mike stare at me waiting.
"We played spin the bottle" I finally say.
"Ooh" they say in unison.
"Details?" Mike asks smirking.
"Amber" is all I say.
"Oh my god!" Jack laughs. "What was it like?"
"Umm truthfully it wasn't that bad" I reply.
"Well at least she's hot" Mike holds his hand up, I roll my eyes and high five him.
"So Rochelle broke up with you because she's jealous of our friendship" I say.
We all sit in silence for the longest time.
"So there you go. Rob is now dead and Robyn is back" I whoop chucking down the sideburns I had been forced to wear. Mike hadn't imagined that I would be the cause of his break up and neither did I.. "So what happens now?" I ask.
"I don't know. You're my best friend and she's the girl that I love" he mutters.
"I guess you need to sleep on it" Jack tries to add helpfully.
We both nod and decide its bets for Mike to think about things. The idea he might stop seeing me to be with Rochelle killed me. And there was a huge risk that it could actually happen.
