"Ahh, yes.. Shadow, wasn't it? From here on out you shall be trained to become the new ruler of Vadan" The tyrannical king told his now new heir to his throne. But the little one paid no mind to his words, as he continued to hold in his sobs.
"Where *sniff* where's mephy? Where's mommy and daddy?" An exasperated sigh escaped Doom's lips.
"You don't need them. You will be next in line for the throne, so you don't need unimportant people" He spoke calmly yet his voice hinted a warning against the young hedgehog's transgressions.
"No! I want to be with mommy, daddy and mephy!" That did it. King Doom grabbed a whip and began hitting the young boy.
"YOU WILL NOT DEFY ME PEASANT! YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT I CHOSE YOU TO LIVE IN MY CASTLE AMONGST THE OTHER LOWLY PEASANTS IN MY KINGDOM! SO YOU WILL DO AS YOU ARE TOLD!" The angered tyrant yelled at Shadow as he continued to whip him.
"Now, then.. child, you are to follow what I say from now on, understand?" The king's voice was laced with venom. Shadow nodded his head furiously as he shook from the shock and the pain, blood dripping from the freshly inflicted wounds on his small body.

Shadow, now 10, has observed and absorbed how King Doom handled his citizens; If they defy his rules, they are executed. Those who try to revolt against him are immediately crushed. And force was the way to keep his peasants at bay.
"Shadow" King Doom called for his 'son' "We will be having guests over, namely, the Kings from the other Kingdoms and their sons. We will be discussing the Peace Treaty between the Kingdoms Vadan, Viliri and Eluvia. You will associate yourself with the other heirs as to understand their way of living." He explained.
"Yes, father" Shadow responded
"Get dressed, and I expect the best behavior from you"
"Yes, father"
The King nodded in approval at his son's response and dismissed him from his office. If all things go well, he will be a fit to rule all of Vadan, and the neighboring kingdoms will be at his mercy.
He will be a tyrant to precede him, a son of evil, and his name shall be uttered in fear for all centuries to come.
"All is going according to plan, soon he shall be an heir worthy enough to control this kingdom with an iron fist, and not like that other pathetic excuse for an exiled son of mine"

Chariots arrived in front of the palace as the two visiting royalties were warmly welcomed inside by King Doom.
"Good to see you again, Jules, Venice" King Doom greeted his friends.
"good to see you again, dear Doom" answered King Jules
"Just Ven, I have told you that multiple times" retorted the ivory king at the dark one's comment.
