Chapter 8

  "Silver? Silver?" The young duke called for the ivory male as he walked along the garden. The prince had promised to return by 11, but it was already half past midnight and there was still no sign of him.

"Maybe he fell asleep?" Sonic thought. Deep inside he wouldn't deny a sense of worry and panic is lingering inside his chest; Silver had always stayed true to his words no matter what the circumstances may be, so why was it different this time?

"Silver? Are you here? Please answer me!" A strong, iron-like scent had caught his attention. Curious, he decided to follow, and what he saw had terrified him to his core.

His ivory fiance laid by the well, wounded and bloody. His chest was ripped upward, what's more he wasn't breathing at all. The terrified male screamed at his lover's predicament and rushed to his side, with peach arms shaking from his fright.

"SILVER!! SILVER!!! SILVER NO!!!" The cerulean male cried, holding his beloved Silver close to his heaving chest "who did this to you? who would do this to you?" It was indeed a terrifying sight; his lover's chest cut open, bloody, cold and lifeless beside a well.

Emerald eyes open wide at the revelation; he remembers...

~flashback~

A year had passes after the incident that occurred on Sonic's 15th birthday, and the two lovers were peacefully sleeping together; that is, until the snow-furred male suddenly sat up and gasped deeply for breath, his hand clutching against his heart that was hammering away against his chest. He looked at the grandfather clock hanging by the wall; half past midnight. A groan arise from the mobian next to him and the silvery hedgehog felt a hand placed over his.

"Silver? Is something the matter?" his lover quietly asked. Silver shook his head and smiled
"Just a bad dream, that's all. Nothing too serious"
"are you sure?"
"mmhm. definitely"

The azure hedgehog held the other's face in his hands, emerald eyes assessing him very carefully.

"You're lying to me. Now tell me, what's wrong? what did you dream about?" he heard a sigh from his beloved Silver.

"Sonic? What would you do if you found out that Shadow has loved you, before you confessed to me?"
"Hmmm... I don't know; give him a chance perhaps? I can't really say; because I know that I have loved you for a while, but I just don't know when. Besides, I'm sure that Shadow developing any feelings for me is such a far-fetched idea. There's a greater chance of him falling for you than him falling for me, the two of you being such close friends and all. But what does Shadow's 'feelings' have anything to do with your dream, love?"
"I.. I dreamt that I was murdered beside a well, by Shadow, but his eyes looked different, but then again, I am certain it was him and no one else" he told Sonic. In response, the latter embraced the young silvery prince and gave him a light kiss on his cheek.

"Aww, come on now; you and Shadow are great friends! Sure, we haven't him for a while and doesn't attend the meetings held by our fathers like before, but I can assure you that he won't harm his friends" the cerulean hedgehog held Silver tighter.

"You know I have psychic capabilities, what if it comes true?"
"What if it doesn't? Silver not all visions have to come true. If there was a way of preventing one, then why not right?" a passionate kiss was given to the worried hedgehog's lips, and a warm smile to calm his heart.

"So, why don't we sleep now, hm? Rest your pretty little mind Silver"

'he doesn't know.. he doesn't know about what happened, and it's probably for the best'

"You're right; goodnight Sonic. I love you"
"I love you too"

~End flashback~

"Shadow" Venom dripped in his words as he spoke of his name. He should have listened to Silver about the visions! He should have realized that the ivory male was acting odd today by asking to go for a stroll alone; he always asked for company because he was afraid! He should have been adamant about accompanying him, instead of being so lenient!

But why would Silver risk walking alone? Was it to make the vision real? He saw two bloodied notes in his fiance's hand; one requesting to meet here, the other, only has three words on it; three very special words.

'he loves you' addressed to the azure duke himself. Whatever the reason behind this was, that black hedgehog is the reason the love of his life is gone.

And there is hell to be paid.
