I was getting dressed to go over to Gwen and Joseph's house. Damn, I didn't get their last names. I button up my black dress shirt. Tie or no tie? Fuck it. I put gel in my hair and began combing it. I need a haircut. I spiked it up alittle on top. I put my watch on and I was ready to go. I walk downstairs and headed out the front door. I could see the neighboors heading over to their house. Lots of people. I locked my door and headed across the street.

I followed a group of people to the backyard. I exchanged smiles at them as I went to find Gwen or Joseph. Gwen sees me and walks over. "Hi, glad you could make it. Almost lost hope." she greeted shaking my hand. "No problem, didn't feel like cooking today." I replied jokingly. She let out a laugh and walked me over to her husband. He was by the grill cooking up steaks, hot dogs, and bugers. Smelled great. "Hey there pal. Good to see you." he said shaking my hand. I smiled. "We never caught your name. What is it?" "It's Robert." I answered. "Oh, it's nice to see you. Foods almost ready. Would you like a beer?" "Yeah sure." "I'll get it for you." said Gwen as she walked over to the cooler. "So, what is it that you do?" asked Joseph. "I'm a photographer." I replied. "That's nice. Do you own your own business?" "Yes, I do." "You do all kinds of photography don't you?" "Yeah." "Well, if it's not too much trouble. Would mind doing family photos for me? I can pay you whatever the cost maybe." "Sure I can do that. I would just have to check my schedual but, I will defiantely mark you down." "Thank you so much. I've been meaning to get this done for some time just could never find the right person." "I can show you my work. You won't be disappointed I promise." "That would be great. I'm pretty sure your good though." Gwen came back handing me the beer. I opened it and took a swig. "Come with me, I want to introduce you to some of the other neighbors."

Gwen introduced me to about a good fifteen people. I was sitting at a table by myself enjoying my beer and lunch. I then see a couple come in a little late. There was tall man dressed to the nine greeting people. I felt my heart pound against my chest as I seen this woman standing behind him.

Her expression was blank. It's almost she wasn't too happy to be here. She was goregous. She had long flowing brown hair with natural curls. Her eyes were hazel, soft red lips, and light brown skin. Her facial bone structure was perfect from one end to the other. She was somewhere around my height minus the heels. Her body was curvy and her legs went for miles. She drew a lazy smile at the others who greeted her and walked over to a table.

For some damn reason I couldn't take my eyes away from her. It's like I was under her spell. I grew some balls and walked over to her table. I sat down in front of her and smiled. "Hi, I'm Robert." I greeted holding my hand out to her. She looked over at me and shook my hand lightly. She then turned her head and ignored me. "Do you have a name?" I asked. She looked back at me coldly. "I hope you know, I am married." she said. "I noticed that when you walked in. I'm just making friendly conversation. I'm new to the neighborhood." "Good for you." "Could I at least get your name? And I'll leave you alone." She glared at me. "Diana." She stood up from the table and walked over to another one. I notice her husband looking at me and walks over. He holds out his hand to me. "Hey you must be Robert my new next door neighbor." he said shaking my hand. "Yes, nice to meet you. And you are?" I asked. "I'm Francis Jefferson. Lawyer." "Ah, nice." "I'm sure you've met my wife. She shy sometimes." "Yeah, I noticed. How long have you two been married?" "About three years now. She not much of a housekeeper or wife if you ask me." he chuckled and i joined him lightly. What a fucking jerk? "But, she was the prettiest so I had to have her." "That's sweet. It was nice meeting you." "Yeah, no problem. My old lady and I have to get home. Work tomorrow which is lame." I went to sit down at my table. I watched Diana leave behind Francis as he jerked her behind the fence. I slowly followed them back. They lived right next door to me. I seen him arguing with her and shoved her into the house. My stomach turned as the shadows behind the curtains display Francis slapping Diana. I wanted to do something but, how could I? She would deny the whole ordeal out of fear of her husband. I wish I could help her. But, how? All I can do is admire her from a distance.
