Deadly Catch

I sat in the waiting room of the hospital. Practically losing my mind. No word on Diana or my son. I felt lost for the first time in my life. It's not fair for what's going on. I should be the one who gets hurt not them. Diana has suffered enough and my son he's too young. I held the picture of our first family photo. Tears ran down my face. My family. I don't want to lose them. The doctor comes into the room. I quickly wipe the tears from under my eyes. Please be good news. Judging by the expression his face didn't seem that way. "Hello, I'm Doctor Wong. Family I presume?" he said shaking my hand. "Yes. How are they?" I replied. "For the moment they are stable. But, not responsive. The child suffered from cardiac arrest on arrival. Took us awhile to get him back. As for the mother, she suffered the most. We did blood tests on both of them and found KCl in the blood stream. Its a very powerful poison used for lethal injection during executions. We flushed their system out before it caused anymore perment damage. Right now, they are in a coma. It's going to take awhile for the necessary precautions to be complete. I'm very sorry." I sat down feeling relieved to know they are still alive. "Thank you, Doctor." "No problem. I walked into the room to see Diana in the bed. My son was in a glass crib hooked up to a bunch of monitors. He laid there not moving. My heart stung as I seen the way he looked. "Stay strong for me son. You can pull through this. Daddy's here for you." I kissed his forhead. I went over to Diana. Her beautiful complexion had disappeared. Her skin pale, eyes dark, and hair dried. Its like she wasn't alive. I took her hand into mine. It was cold to,the touch. I kissed it softly as I held it against my cheek. "I wish this never happend to you. I didn't want this for my son. I should be here not you two. If anything were to happen to you both. I couldn't live with myself. I would die with you. I love you so much. You've suffered enough, Diana. My beautiful angel. I hope and pray you two make it. Fight. I will wait as long as I need to. When you wake up, I will be here." I kissed her hand once more laying my head down on the bed. I weeped like a baby. I was an emotional wreck. Hopefully, Diana can remember who gave this to her.

*One week past*

Diana hasn't come out of her state. My son woke after two days. I was happy for that. He was smiling and laughing again like he use to. He kept my spirits up. I went downstairs to go get some coffee at the cafeteria. I noticed Josie was there asking to see Diana. She recieved a phone call and went outside. I followed her just to find out why she was here. "Yes, I'm here at the hospital. The lady at the desk told me that little runt made it. As for Diana, she's still not out of the woods yet. When Robert's out of the room I'll give her another. Knowing that she's in a coma makes it perfect. Don't worry Francis she'll be dead in the next few minutes. I'll just have to deal with that kid when I finally convince Robert to be with me. He only knows that I drugged him. He'll get over that. I'll keep you posted okay. Bye!" Josie is behind all this! She was walking back inside when I "accidently" ran into her. "Hey Robert. I heard about Diana and wanted to see how you were doing." she greeted. I scoffed at her shaking my head in disbelief. "Who are trying to fool?" I asked. She gave me a funny look as if she didn't know what I was talking about. "What do you mean?" "You my dear are a caniving snake! I heard everything. If you think for one second I'm going to leave you alone with my wife you're crazy!" "Robert, what are you talking about?" "You and Francis plotting against us! I heard you talking to him on the phone." She looked away from me and took off running. I ran after her grabbing her by her waist. "You're not getting away with this!" I shouted. "Let go!" she screamed. Security guard came over. "What's going on?" "Arrest her. She's the reason my fiancé and son are here!" "Is this true?" "It is she tried running away after I confronted her. Check her bag I bet there's something in it." The security guard handcuffs Josie. He searches her bag and found a surenge filled with liquid. "I'm a doctor!" she exclaimed. He calls his other partner over. "Take this to any doctor. Find out what the liquid is. If its dangerous alert me immediately. Ma'am come with me." He takes Josie away to his car. "You got this all wrong! I'm a doctor! Robert I hope Diana never wakes up!" yelled Josie. I felt relieved she was gone. There's no way she's getting off easily. I know that surenge has that same lethal poison used against Diana and Xavier.
