It had been a boring evening, Yoongi had been minding his own business, writing down some lyrics when there had been a knock at his door. He had grumbled complaints of annoyance under his breath before setting his pen aside and walking to the door. When he opened the door, he was greeted by the sight of a tall pink haired man with broad shoulders, holding a flier of some kind. Yoongis eyes had narrowed in suspicion, incredulously "what do you want?" The man handed Yoongi a flier, frown evident on his pouty pink lips "I'm looking for my brother. He's run away.." Yoongi had looked down at the flier boredly, until he realized who the picture was. It was Taehyung. His eyes had widened "he looks familiar." Yoongi kept it vague, he may not like or trust Taehyung but if this weird guy was a serial killer he wasn't going to just roll over and admit where Taehyung was. The man had smiled in relief, but something seemed off about him to Yoongi. Sensing an air of desperation, Yoongi asked "what's your brothers name?" When the man breezily changed the subject by saying "oh my name? I'm Jin. Kim Seokjin." Yoongi had smirked slightly, this Jin person didn't know who Taehyung was. Didn't even know the kids name. Taehyung must be mixed up in something bad. Yoongi had handed the flier back, humming smugly and asking again "what's your brothers name?" Jin had visibly stiffened at the repeated question, but laughed it off "I call him V. That's his nickname. So have you seen him around? He ran away a few weeks ago.." Yoongi had bit the inside of mouth in debate. Sell Taehyung out, or help the weirdo next door? Finally his morals gave way, and he opened the door for Jin "I'll tell you where he is," Jins eyes light up, until Yoongi had finished "If, you tell me who you both really are and what you're hiding." Jin had visibly tensed, gaze going cold and his jaw clenched. Yoongi had hit a nerve.Jin had entered the small cluttered apartment, everything about his previous aura changing drastically into someone calm and calculating despite an obvious danger. Yoongi had been nervous, but kept a calm facade "so, Jin, shouldn't you start explaining?" Jin sat down at the small kitchen table, crossing his legs and resting his palms on his knee caps with a quirked brow "how do I know you're telling the truth?" Yoongi rolled his eyes, making an X across his heart with his index finger "I swear to tell the truth, cross my heart. Look I wouldn't lie about him, I want him gone. I just want the truth first." Jin seemed to contemplate a decision for several seconds before sighing "alright. Shake on it. I'll tell you the truth and in exchange you tell me where he is." Yoongi nodded, walking over and shaking the taller man's hand "deal."
Jin had reluctantly told the human that he was an angel, and that V was a demon after Hoseok's soul. Of course Yoongi hadn't believed him at first- but when Jin had showed off his magnificent pair of ivory wings Yoongi realized just how real his situation was and after several minutes of talking and asking questions, he'd pointed Jin to Hoseok's apartment door right down the hall. He didn't regret selling Taehyung out, because he knew the demon deserved whatever would happen to him. Too bad Yoongi didn't realize just how ruthless Jin could be.
The next day, Yoongi is woken up by the sound of excited knocking at his front door and he knows. It's Hoseok. He wonders briefly if Jins justice has been delivered that quickly and that Hoseok is distraught of his roommate going missing or being killed but when he opens the front door, Hoseok is grinning like an idiot much to his dismay. He forces a small smile and opens the door "Hoseok, what are you doing here? I thought you were mad at me.." Hoseok shakes his head, pulling the shorter into a hug "I'm sorry. Let's not fight anymore.." Yoongi sighs, reluctantly returning the hug with the simple reassurance that Jin will uphold his end of their deal and eliminate V, then things can go back to the way they were... Yoongi tightens his arms around Hoseok's waist, realizing just how much he's missed the dancer these past several days, nodding against the younger's chest "let's not fight again. You mean too much to me.." Hoseok pulls away, smile dimming slightly "I'm really sorry hyung." Yoongi nods, smiling gently "me to. Do you want some coffee?" Hoseok lights up, nodding excitedly.
Fifteen minutes later after preparing their caffeinated beverages, Yoongi with straight black coffee and Hoseok with a caramel flavored brew topped with some whipped cream that Yoongi keeps around strictly for Hoseok's visits. Yoongi doesn't like his coffee sweet, Hoseok does. There are numerous things that they prefer opposite of one another but they never actually disagree. It's one of their shared qualities. Hoseok holds his mug with both hands, taking a sip and savoring with a little grin that makes Yoongi's chest tighten. Yoongi frowns, asking "so what made you apologize?" Hoseok sets the mug aside, staring down at his hands nervously "I missed you and our talks.." Yoongi nods, sipping his own drink.
Several minutes of awkward small talk later and Hoseok sighs "there's something on my mind." Yoongi quirks a brow, asking "what is it?" Hoseok bites the inside of his mouth before finally confessing "I want to know that you approve of Taehyung. I really like him, and we even kissed last night... But I don't want to date him, knowing that my best friend hates him.." Yoongi blinks. That's the real reason Hoseok is here to apologize. He just wants Yoongi to approve of his crush, not because he actually feels remorse for their fight. Yoongi feels his chest tighten, but he forces a fake calmness "date him. You guys seem great together, I was out of line to say you shouldn't trust him. I'm sure you'll be perfect together Hoseok.." The dancer smiles in relief "thank you hyung. Really." Yoongi can barely contain his tears, nodding and casually telling Hoseok "don't worry about it. Look I just remembered, I've gotta head to the studio for a demo recording. Maybe we can talk more tomorrow?" Hoseok hops up to his feet, nodding "sure thing! Thanks for the coffee hyung. See ya tomorrow." Yoongi leads him to the door, fake smile plastered across his lips right up until he shuts and locks the door behind Hoseok.
Yoongi rests his back against the door, sliding down to hug his knees to his chest as a pain stabs his chest. Hoseok doesn't see him as anything more than a friend, it's always been abundantly clear, but the fact that Hoseok would rather date someone he knows nothing about hurts in a new way. Suddenly he's the same depressed mess that he was back home in Korea when the two shining lights of his life pulled him through it all. Hoseok and... He can't even bare to think of the other man's name, still too wounded by his sudden disappearance. He Hoseok and their other friend had all moved to America together, only for him to suddenly pack up and leave Yoongi and Hosoek behind. They'd stayed despite it all, Hoseok is all Yoongi has had and now he feels that even that is slipping through his fingers. Hoseok doesn't love him- never will. And the mere thought of something like V making him happy causes anger to rage within the writer. V plans to cripple Hoseok until he kills himself, and Yoongi can't bear the thought of loosing him. Now that he thinks about it, he's glad he made a deal with Jin. Jin will kill V, and Yoongi can rest assured that Hosoek is safe and out of harms way. Maybe he'll even confess to Hoseok later on. He lets his eyes drop closed, thinking of the way things used to be when it was just the three of them against the world. Finally after years of hurt, Yoongi allows himself to mumble the name of the one who left he and Hoseok behind.
"Namjoon... I miss you.."
AN; hi guys sorry for the short chapter, but I felt like it didn't need to be any longer and would be too random if I added a separate plot. I know you're all probably confused about how Namjoon is mixed up in all this, you will get answers soon, promise :3
