Hermione walked through the halls in a trance for the next two weeks.

Everyone whispered behind her back. She didn't even care what the rumors said.

She was on her way to Poppy for her next check up. Severus had said he would meet her there.

Sure enough, he stood at the top of the stairs, waiting for her.

"Hermione," he said as she reached him.

"Hey Sev," she said as she kissed him quickly.

He smiled and let her lead the way in.

"Miss Granger," said Poppy excitedly as she entered.

"Hello, Poppy," said Hermione with a smile.

"How are you feeling?" Poppy asked as Hermione sat on the bed.

"Good, thank you," answered Hermione.

"I'm glad," said Poppy as she got the machine started up.

Dumbledore and McGonagall rushed in.

"Just in time," said Severus.

"Yes well, we weren't free like you," said McGonagall.

Severus gave her a questioning look. McGonagall shrugged it off.

"Hello, dear child." McGonagall said as she reached Hermione.

"Hi, Professor," Hermione said with a bright smile.

"Well," said Poppy," I hope we're all ready?"

Everyone agreed. Poppy put the gel on Hermione's tummy and started the scan.

"The baby is healthy," said Poppy as she watched the screen with everyone," you're just a bit further than we originally thought."

"What do you mean?" Asked Hermione.

"Well...you should have been three months exactly, give or take a few days..." said Poppy.

"How far along is she then?" Asked McGonagall.

"According to the bone and body development, she's...four months along," said Poppy as she looked at Hermione in confusion.

"How can it be so far apart from last time?" Asked Hermione.

"Well, these machines are not very accurate in the early stages of pregnancy," said Poppy.

Hermione looked at Severus then back at Poppy.

"But you said the morning sickness goes away after twelve weeks..." Hermione said.

"You're still getting it?" Asked Poppy.

"Yes," said Hermione," very much so. And it's only getting worse."

"Every pregnancy is different. It is rare for women to get it past then, but it does happen," said Poppy with sympathy.

"Okay...so I'm four months along," said Hermione,"that leaves one month before we know the gender."

"Well not many know this, but if the baby is laying right, then we might be able to see. Do you want to try?" Asked Poppy.

Hermione looked at Severus with a spark in her eye. He nodded. She turned to Poppy.

"Okay, let's try,"said Hermione excitedly.

"Okay, just don't get your hopes too high," said Poppy.

She turned back to the screen and looked as she moved the device around.
