Something Went Wrong

It was S.T.A.R Labs. Something was wrong with Iris. She was dying. I hang up the phone shocked. My hands were suddenly clamy, my breath started to get shallow, and then I looked at Barry. He was trying to figure me out like always. I told him."Iris is dying Barry." and just like that he was out in a flash. I raced over to my car. I jumped in and started it. I rush over to S.T.A.R. Labs and I saw Iris on the table seizing. I rushed over to her as quickly as I could and held her down. I asked for help so while they held her on the table, I could put a sedative in her system so it would stop temporary. I looked over at Barry and he was sitting down with his hands on his face. I looked down at him. "Barry..." "Cait please don't not right now." "I just want to say that go with Iris she needs you." He looked at m with regret in his eyes. I headed over to Iris as well and ran some tests on her. I could not find the cause. What was wrong with her and how are we going to stop it before she dies? Even with all of this happening I couldn't help but think of him. Barry. I knew it was wrong he was Iris and he loves her. I'm just delusional. I noticed Julian walking into S.T.A.R Labs. I walked over to him and gave him a smile, well a half smile. "What's wrong Caitlyn?" "Its Iris, something's wrong with her and I can't figure it out." We both walked over to Iris and started to talk about different ways about what could be happening with her. I kept glancing over at Barry and he was just looking at us studying us wondering what we were doing. I noticed that her symptoms were weird. I looked at them closely researching them in every single medical book I had and my resources at S.T.A.R Labs. Then it hit me. She was touched by a meta. I ran to Barry. "Bar.... She was poisoned." His eyes flickered with electricity. "With what?" "Its a meta." With that note he ran off leaving m with a pile of papers to pick up.

I was at S.T.A.R Labs for the whole day  until Barry decided to come back. And he had caught the meta and saved Iris. I looked at him tears filling my eyes. "What the hell happened? You were gone the whole day. No calls. No saying where you were going." "Cait I'm sorry but I got to save Iris's life. The woman that I love, the one I have an apartment with. I'm sorry Cait I can't keep doing this but whatever is going on with us I can't. We are just too different. Hell even out powers are opposite." "If that is what you want." "It is." "Do we just go back pretending nothing happened?" "Cait, we have to."  I walked off. Barry letting me. I went home. Crying.

The next day back to S.T.A.R Labs. I saw Iris up and doing okay. "Hey Iris I am so glad you are doing okay." "Thanks Caitlin, I would not be here without Barry." She said his name with so much love. The way I said his name. Barry came behind Iris and hugged her. She smiled and said hi. Barry looked at me while he Iris was looking at him. He looked sad. He stopped looking my way and looked down. To see Iris already smiling and being cheerful. They kissed. And my heart hurt. I walked away as fast as I could. But like usual nothing can outrun Barry. "Hey Cait, I know this seems weird." "Barry stop." "Cai-." "I said stop and it's Caitlin to you." He seemed hurt but I dont care. He doesn't care about me why should I care about him?"
I saw julian head out of the elevator. He smiled at me and I almost felt happy. Almost. "Hey about that dinner tonight?" "Sound wonderful. I'll pick you up at 8." "Perfect."

I walked in the cortex and I saw Barry talking to Julian, in a pretty heated argument. "I care for her too Allen." "Are you sure you just want to date, or are you trying to have sex with her!" "Wow mate, whatever happens with me and Caitlin is up to me and get. Not you. You have Iris." "I still care for Cait." "Go away Allen. Go to Iris, before she leaves too." After eavsdropping enough, I walked in just to see Barry storm out. He glanced at me, then continued to storm off. "What was that about? " "Nothing just Allen throwing a fit." He was lying.  Did he actually see Barry as a threat?

I tried to find Barry. Then I realized I was looking in all the wrong places. The old wells secret future place. I walked in and found Barry looking at the newspaper. It still said by Julie Greer. "Hey." I said softly. He looked up and hardly smiled. I sat down next to him and put him head down to his shoulder. He needed someone to be with him. We didn't say anything we just sat and it was nice. I took my head off his shoulder and looked at him in the eyes. He looked at me and I understood what he was going through. I nodded and he kissed me on the forehead. It was short and sweet. I kissed him on the cheek and put my head back on his shoulder. He started hugging me stroking my hair. And for the longest time I actually felt safe, in his arms.
