Chapter 9

Bella's P.O.V.

They were all star I at me weirdly and I even heard a few gasps when I ran into the living room to play games with them. I have never played games with anyone before and I thought that it would be awesome so I am pretty excited. I start going through a mental checklist that consisted of, do i have something on my teeth, do I have something on my face or body, am I hunching over...

Oh crap I forgot that I'm standing at full height right now and I'm taller than Emmett.

"Yeah I forgot to say I'm kinda tall, it runs in the family." I say as i scratch the back of my neck in embarrassment.

"Well that explain why you hunch in school." Rosalie says.

"Yeah I scare people when I stand at full height. I can hunch back over if you'd like." I say to them.

"No, no it's alright, it was just a surprise." Emmett says and laughs.

"Oh okay well what are we going to be playing. Just to warn you, I have never played video games in my life." I tell them.

I thought Emmett was going to die right then and there. If possible he even turned alittle paler in color and everything.

"Do you just say that you have never played video games in your life?" He asks. I just nod my head in agreement. "What have you been doing all this time?"

"You know studying for school." I say with a small smile on my face.

"You will learn how to play video games today." He says and drags me over to the tv handing me a controller. When he grabbed my arm I ignored the sparks going through my arm and followed him. When he let go of my arm I almost missed the feeling of his hand around my wrist.

I looked back to see all of the others rushing forward to get a spot. I see Rosalie walking over to Emmett and sitting in his lap while the others were besides their mates also, except for Edward who wandered off somewhere in the house. I was surrounded by couples and I didn't really know what to do. Do I leave to let them have alone time, do I just sit here, or do I just try and play this game while trying extra hard to act like Rosalie and Emmett don't make me feel uncomfortable?

I keep asking myself these questions when Esme brings in cookies and lays them down besides me.

"I figured that you'll be here for awhile and would like to snack on some cookies while your here." She says and leaves the room.

"Thank you Esme, that was very kind of you." I say. I look back up and notice that everyone is waiting for me to join in on the game.

Two hours later I can almost beat Emmett at Mario Cart 8 and can beat the others at it. It's currently 6:30 and I have to be home by 7 so I get up.

"Hey I'm sorry to have to quit but I have to get home for dinner." I say as i stand up.

"Oh, okay well do you want to come over tomorrow and do homework together?" Rosalie asks.

"I'll have to ask my parents tonight at dinner." I say and head towards the front door.

All of a sudden Esme is by the door and smiling at me.

"Thank you for letting me come over and fixing me food even though you don't eat it." I say as i give her a small hug.

"It was no problem dear and I would love for you to come back over." She says once I let go.

"Okay well I'll see you all tomorrow at school " I say to the kids. " and I'll see you as soon as I can." I tell Esme.

I walk out the door and head towards my truck when suddenly I get the feeling that something isn't right. I look behind me and see that the Cullens aren't looking and that I can't hear them anymore so I hurriedly get into my truck and take off down the road.

Suddenly my phone rings and I know that its Renee.

"Hey I need you to come home." She says.

"I'm on my way, is everything alright?" I ask.

"Yeah but you need to hurry." She says and with that the phone line goes dead.

I step on the gas once I'm off of the Cullens lane and book it to my house.

Five minutes later I'm pulling up into my drive way and see two new expensive black cars with tinted windows. I hurry up and park and rush inside to be greeted by vampires that I don't know.

Edward's P.O.V.

While they were playing games I was making the call to the Volturi and found out some pretty interesting things about the Swan family.

Renee Swan was once a Volturi Princess but found her mate in a werewolf by the name of Charlie Swan. Naturally Caius hated him and tried to kill him and would have succeeded if Renee didn't stop him. A year later Charlie saved the Volturi Kings from a rogue group of werewolves and now they are extremely close. Everyone loves Charlie and accepts that he is Renee's mate. Caius and him are now close friends and let their first year act like it didn't even happen.

When I mentioned them having a daughter the Kings ignored me and were asking if I woul like to join them. I of course politely turned down the offer and said my goodbyes.

I just finished relaying all of this news to the family and they seemed shocked. We knew that Charlie was a man not to be messed with but now he is definitely not a man to be messed with. If you mess with him you are messing with the Volturi.

This family is strange.

Another chapter down. I hope you are all liking this story so far and I figured that I would give you alittle background information on Renee and Charlie. Keep in mind that Bella doesn't know this about her family.

Alot are probably wanting to know why I'm updating so much right now, well I feel bad for making you wait for so long. I didn't update the other night's because I was rushed to the hospital with my throat swelling shut. I'm okay now but I still don't have a voice. Anyway enough about what's wrong with me I just wanted to let you all know what was going on.
