i felt bad for leaving maya but i just can't be a dad. not at 17. i walk into the lunch room thinking about everything going on as i get my lunch. 

"why the sad face hun?" it's tator tot tuesday." said janice the lunch lady.

"there's just a lot happening right now." i respond. she just nods at me and continues to hand the other students their lunch.

i walk to our normal lunch table and sit down next to zay. 

"so what are you doing about this maya thing?" he asked me.

"how do you know about maya?" i asked angrily.  

"farkle told me." he replied.

"how does farkle know?" i ask back.

"do i look like farkle?" he says arrogantly. "but seriously, what are you going to do about this?" he asked.

"i don't know." i said.

"well, how's maya?" he asks.

i then reply again, "i don't know."

"how do you not know how your pregnant girlfriend is?" he says kind of loudly.

"shh!" i respond with my finger over my mouth. 

"all i'm saying is you should be there for her. if you were there for here when you made it you should be there as it grows to be your child." he speaks staring into my soul.

"okay, i'll talk to her after school." i say nodding.

"good" zay responded. 

"by the way, where did that com from?" i ask squinting my eyes.

"over winter break, while you were having sex, i was watching oprah." he replied.
