Around 10 a.m., Swayam entered the office. "I will be leaving early today. And no disturbing when I'm gone." He warned them all after the brief meeting he had called. Today was the first trial in the court for the case against Sharon. It had been the worst night of his life, and today wasn't going to be any easier on him.
"Aashi?" He called walking into the cabin to find Aashi standing in front of the opened locked cabinet, shocked. "What's wrong?"
"I don't understand..." Aashi was baffled. She never misplaced anything. Especially the important things like this.
"Someone steal something?" Simmi butted in.
Kriya opened her desk drawer and took out the box. "Looking for this?"
The most shocked of them all was Simmi. Victoriously grinning, Kriya walked to Swayam and handed it to him. "Can there be a safer place than my desk for this?"
"It was supposed to be a surprise." He whispered to her. She winked at him in a way no one else could see.
"Is it just me who's wondering how it got there?" Simmi tried to change the topic.
"Do you really want to know?" Kriya challenged her. "Okay, here's how the story goes. Everyone leaves office last night. You come back pretending to have forgotten something. Open the cabinet and then put it in my drawer so that when everyone starts looking for it, they find it in my possession and as common sense would have it, I'd be found guilty."
"What nonsense is this? Look you wannabe. It's not hidden from anyone that despite being married, you're always glued to sir." Before she could continue, Swayam interrupted, angry.
"Enough, I will not have anyone talk to Kriya in that tone."
"Swayam, it's okay." Kriya tried to calm him.
Simmi continued with her taunts. "Look at the way she has no manners on how to not call her boss by his name."
"You for one have no right to comment on me. Someone needs to show you the mirror." Kriya then played the CCTV footage in her laptop, which showed Simmi taking the necklace out of the cabinet and planting it in Kriya's drawer.
"Well, what do you have to say to that Ms. Simmi?" Swayam asked after everyone saw the truth.
Simmi was now scared for her life. She had no idea the cabin had a camera. "Oh yes, there are cameras everyone over here, Simmi. If you did want to trap me, you should have been a bit more careful." Kriya told her. "I just have one question for you. I'm sure everyone wants to know too; why?"
"Isn't it obvious? Everyone knows she's been jealous of you since the beginning." Nicole said.
"Now she's going to have to pay the price of that." Kriya pretended to be sad, when in reality, all she felt was pity. Sympathy. "Things jealousy can do!"
"Kriya?" Swayam called. She turned to him. "Will you do the honors?" She knew just what he meant.
"Gladly, sir."
She typed out the termination form on Simmi's name then handing it over to Swayam to sign it. After signing, Swayam handed it to Simmi, dismissing her.
I will have my revenge. Simmi thought with a spiteful look on her face. "Aren't you going to punish her for the way she disrespectfully called you?" She asked Swayam.
Kriya let out a scoff. "If anyone, only I in this office have the right to call him by his name."
"Just because your last name is Rai, doesn't mean you're the owner of RE." She turned to Swayam. "Sir, please. This was just a silly mistake I did. Surely, you won't ruin my whole career for that. Give me a chance to rectify my mistake?"
