Her teammates screamed as Rowan was pushed off of the second story by the invisible shock wave.

The fire wrapped its talons around her as she fell to the bottom floor. The team below watched with wide eyes as Rowan fell towards them, fire burning through and around her.

By unfortunate luck Rowan lands directly on a sparking machine, her impact causing the machine to explode.

Electricity mixed with the fire crawling over her skin, webs of lightning spreading across her pink skin.

The team on the bottom floor rushed towards their captain, all of them hosing down the machinery that she landed on in a desperate attempt to save her.

What felt like hours was only fifteen minutes, but fifteen minutes was long enough for the girl to be burned alive. Despite the flames around them, the team was able to control the ones devouring their captain and pull her from the bent metal.

The man holding her hissed in pain as electricity shot up his arm. Despite his pain, her reached under her collar to check her pulse, praying to whatever higher power their was that their beloved captain was still alive. "I've got a pulse!" He gasped, looking up at his teammates with wide eyes.

"What are you waiting for! Get her out of here!" Another one of the firefighters shouted, struggling to control the surrounding flames.

With a nod, he begins to drag the unconscious girl out of the burning ware house. Once outside the two become drenched in water. The man holding her shouts out for an ambulance, saying that Rowan had fallen from the second story and been electrocuted.

The Fire Chief of Central City rushes over, a cellphone already pressed to his ear. "Do you have a pulse."

He nods, "But fading."

"They say they'll be here shortly, but there are a lot of calls coming in."

It takes the ambulance twenty minutes to get to the warehouse. Ten more to get her back to the hospital. Doctors rush to the famed firefighter's aid, helping push her on the grungy. "What happened!?"

"They say she fell off the second story and into a fire. She got electrocuted when she landed."

"Temperature is raising."

"Pulse is racing! I thought they said it was failing."

"It was!"

"Get her into ICU. Try to get her temperature down."

The nurse, running along side the girl, places a cold hand on her forehead. "Don't worry Ms. Nyx. You're in good hands. We just need you to fight for us."

She was burning. From the inside out.

She could feel her body buzzing, all of her cells moving at such a rapid pace that she felt like she could burst into flames at any moment.

She was on fire.

Rowan suddenly gasped, shooting up from her bed.

Sweat stuck to her brow, her mouth widening as she tried to gasp for air.

A figure rushes towards the panicking girl, trying to calm her before she goes into cardiac arrest. Rowan, sensing someone quickly approaching her lashes out, twisting the figures arm behind their back and pining them to the bed.

"Rowan! It's me! Flick!" Felicity shouts, her skin burning from the vigilantes touch.

Rowan pulled away quickly, her eyes widening as her best friend tried to compose herself. "What happened?"
