Jan, 2014:
"Please, be safe!", he said, his voice not more than a whisper. I pull him closer and look into his beautiful blue eyes. "I promise."
I can see all the emotions he tries to hold back. The sadness of me leaving. The pride for me being 'brave', as he called it. The fear that I will never come back. And the love. This everlasting love. The love to me.
Our love.
I lean in and our lips touch for the last time. Before I could get carried away I pull back.
"I promise to stay safe and come back as soon as possible. Stay strong! I love you, Lou!", are my last words before I turn around and walk away, leaving the love of my life behind.
