Chapter 11:
Unfortunately every hug has an end and even tough I stay in Louis' arms for as long as I can, he eventually let go of me.
He clears his throught and then asks: "How do you do it? I mean the time travelling?"
It's obvious to me that he's really curious and at this moment I want to tell him everything just to see his eyes shining with so much curiosity and wonder. He looks so beautiful when he gets lost in any topic he likes.
"I don't really know either.", I start with my - probably not really good and helpful - explanation.
"I got this terrible headache and it got worse and worse. Then there is an old ink writing on the bookshelf in my room and when I touched it and read it out loud I was suddenly feeling all dizzy and weird. And after that there are always some grey forms, flying around in the air. Don't ask me what they are - I don't know anything about them. The only thing I am definitely sure of, is that the forms - I call them 'shadows' - brought me back here."
Louis' eyes are glued to my lips and they are sparkling like raindrops in the sun. I watch his facial expressions switch from confused to interested to astonished. He looks so cute when trying to understand the time travelling phenomenon.
"That is everything?", he asked.
I nod and feel a heavy weight being pulled off of my shoulders. Now I know that Louis doesn't think I'm a freak I feel relief washing over me.
"And where are you from?", he asked confused. "Which year were you born and which year are you coming from?"
I chuckle at this question. It just seems so unreal but then I answer: "I was born in 2115. And as I'm twenty, back in the future it's 2135 now."
Louis' jaw drops. I realise that even if he believed me there is a part of him saying that this can't be true. It's impossible.
Then I make a decision. I am going to tell him everything. I am going to tell him about the 'modern life', the differences and similarities to his life. I am going to tell him about my family, especially my dad.
I am going to tell him about me.
With every word I say Louis' eyes widen more. I chuckle because he is so cute and he's easily interested in this time travelling topic.
"So, you mean that the houses are all the same, just black and white and too much glass? Why aren't there any colours? It would be much more beautiful.", Louis says after I told him about the buildings and streets in the future.
"Yeah, every house looks similar to each other. It's because people think it's 'elegant' and it means that the ones living in the house are rich enough to buy a building like it. It's like a status symbol. Even the cars are all black. But I agree, colours would make the cities more beautiful.", I answer patiently.
While I am speaking Louis leanes closer to me, to not miss anything. I don't think he notices it but I surely do.
His face is so close to mine, I can see his eyes sparkling at my story. A small smile is lingering on his lips and I can't tear my gaze away.
I don't realise that we've both stopped talking, I'm too fascinated by Louis' appearance.
His soft, light brown hair and the shiny blue eyes. The cute nose and his perfectly shaped lips.
Carefully I lean closer and I immediately notice that Louis' eyes widen and his breath gets heavier but he doesn't jerk back. Instead he leans in more and I can feel his short breath on my lips.
His gaze which was focused on my eyes flickers to my lips and he slowly closes the little gap between us.
He presses his soft lips to mine and then rests his hand on my shoulder at the base of my neck. Everywhere we touch I get tingly feelings and a shiver runs down my spine.
Louis softly slides his hand through my curls and I can feel him relax next to me.
I can't exactly tell how long we kiss. It could be just a few seconds but it could also be some minutes or even hours. Time doesn't matter now.
It is just Louis and me.
Slowly I break the kiss but don't pull back. Instead I lean my forehead against his and look into his eyes. Even when he eventually pulls back, we don't break the eye contact.
A smile is forming on his lips and I can't help but return it.
Then I pull him into a hug and Louis burys his head on my shoulder. I press soft kisses to the side of his head and in his hair.
Everything feels so right and oddly familiar. I subconsciously know those hugs and those kisses.
We are so focussed on each other that I don't hear the steps towards Louis' room and the door being opened by a middle aged woman.
"Louis, dinner is... what? Harry? Is that you? What are you doing here? Are you back?", a voice says excitedly.
"Mum, don't talk about it. He doesn't know.", Louis hisses.
I turn my head to the woman and her face shows confusion. "What do you mean?", the woman asks.
"I mean what I said. He doesn't know anything. Can we please not talk about it?", Louis answered.
What are they talking about? What don't I know?
I look at Louis questioningly but he ignores me.
"Louis, tell me! What happened? And why does your mum know me?", I ask, slightly annoyed that he doesn't say anything. He just shakes his head and I realise that he won't explain it.
Why is it such a big deal? It can't be that bad, can it?
