Epilogue:

The streetlamps lighten up the dark and it's just bright enough to see where you are going. A warm wind brushes through my hair.

Two years have passed since Louis and I left and now we are walking through Paris. It's a beautiful city and we're visiting it for the third time now. Louis always says it's his favourite place to be.

It's the year 1932 and even now I can see so many similarities to the city how it's like in the future. There are many people walking on the streets, probably coming from an important event judging by how they are clothed. Women wearing fancy dresses and men in suits and a hat.

Louis and I are both dressed casually since we are not going to a soirée. We are just walking around, enjoying the fresh air and the view.

"It's a wonderful city.", Louis says dreamily and I smile, looking at him.

Unfortunately it's our last evening here, because we need to go somewhere else. We agreed on changing the place we stay in every month, so the people of the science organisation can't find us.

Since we are leaving today, I planned something special for my Louis. Smiling, I rest my hand on his ellbow and lead him along the street. We turn at the corner and I walk towards a small cozy restaurant.

I open the door for him and we go inside. We are met by warmth and music playing quietly. A waiter comes up to us and leads us to our table.
The restaurant is rather small but it's comfortable. It's nothing too elegant because I know that Louis doesn't like extravagant things.

I order some water for us to drink in fluent French and I can see Louis staring at my lips. I smile fondly at him and his cheeks heat up a bit when he realises that he has been caught staring at me.

We take a look at the menu, the waiter left at our table and the second Louis sees it he huffs. "Could you translate that for me, because I understand like nothing?"
I chuckle quietly and start translating the dishes for him.

The waiter finally brings our food (Louis chose a chicken filet and I got a plate full of different sea food) and Louis nearly moans when taking his first bite because of how good it is.

"Why did you bring me here?", Louis asks, breaking the comfortable silence. I look at him and freeze. The warm light makes Louis glow and his eyes sparkle.
He looks at me questioningly.

"Because it's our last evening here and I wanted to make it special. And also because it's exactly been two years since we left England.", I explain quickly and he smiles.

"Two wonderful years.", he adds and I just nod because there's nothing else I could do.

Time passes and soon we finish eating our dessert. (Louis wanted to try something typically French, so I ordered Tarte Tartin, an apple cake that is baked upside down.) As soon as possible I pay for our meal - even though Louis doesn't want me to - and then I lead him outside.

"Where are we going?", he asks curiously and I answer: "I won't tell you."
I still have something planned for this evening.

We walk for a few minutes and when Louis starts complaining again about not knowing what we are doing, I cut him off mid-sentence. "Stop whining. We're here already."

Louis looks at the scenery in front of him. The corners of his mouth twitch and slowly form a beautiful smile.

"This is beautiful.", he whispers quietly as if speaking too loud could destroy everything. I nod even though my gaze isn't focused on the scenery in front of us but on Louis. He is beautiful.

"Why are we here?", Louis asks. We are standing at a small lake which is surrounded by some trees and huge grassfields. Everything around us is dark because there are no lamps and only the moon spends a little light. Just enough so we can see where we are going and how graceful and magical this place looks.

Without answering his question I lead Louis a few steps further towards the lake. The water seems to be black and on the surface, where the moonlight touches it, it glitters.

My gaze is still focused on Louis and I watch him smiling when looking at the beautiful lake. Then he turns towards me and pulls me into a hug, resting his head on my shoulder.

"Hey angel," I start talking and he looks up, his blue eyes meeting my green ones. "You wanted to know why we came here."
He nods and curiosity fills his eyes. Softly I push him back a bit and enhale deeply.

"We are here because I love you so much and I have something really important to tell you.", I start talking quietly but clearly. Louis nods again and smiles to encourage me to go on with what I want to say.

"Okay, there's two things. Firstly, where do you want to go after tonight?", I ask.

"Why are you so nervous about asking me where I want to go?", Louis asks confused but there's a smile that's never leaving his lips and I know he thinks that it's cute how I'm acting.

I don't say anything and just look at the grass which is floating in the soft wind. A small hand is placed on my arm and it makes me feel better. I know that there's no reason to be embarassed because this is Louis and he loves me, just as much as I love him.
I look up and return his smile.

"Can we go to Venice?", my beautiful boyfriend asks and I nod, smiling. I always wanted to go to Venice and I'm more than happy to have Louis with me.

Now, the second thing..

"There is something else I want to do.", I say, looking into his eyes. He smiles encouragingly and I breath in deeply before I take a small box out if my jeans pocket. Slowly I get down on one knee and look up to see a shocked Louis, who is covering his mouth with his hands. Carefully I open the tiny box and reveal what it is hiding.

A small silver band.

Nothing fancy but there's a small engraving saying 'through all times H & L'.

"As much as I love you, I don't really like your surname.", I say looking at my boyfriend of many years.

A smile forms on his lips and I can see some tears running down his cheeks. He lets his hand fall down and slowly comes closer to me and then whispers the most beautiful sentence I've ever heard in my life.

"I don't like my surname that much either."

I can't help the big smile that climbs onto my face and say cheekily: "Well, I could offer you mine."

"I like it much better.", he replies and trys to hold back the tears when I take his hand in mine. Carefully I slide the small band onto his finger and then press a kiss to his palm.

"I love you, Lou."

"I love you more, Haz.", he smiles and I know this is only the beginning of us.
