Bias or crush? (paused)

chapter 6 ~ teddy bear

     We somehow found ourselves at the nearest arcade and immediately purchased dozens of tokens.

     We started with a friendly car race, which of course he won. Next were the basketball games. I was super excited when I found out I could actually win him at something.

      Two hours passed when we were finally done going through every game in there. We also knew more about each other and he treated me as if we had been friends since forever.

     "Let's get out of here already... I'm hungry. Please?" I begged. If we stayed there any second more, people would think we lived at an arcade.

     "Sure. But wait! We've got a couple more tokens...we can't waste them! Plus, we haven't played one more game" I became more curious as he gave me a smirk.

     He started to walk towards the claw machine.

     Why would he want to play that?

     His first try was a failure,as expected and so were the next ones. I got tired and attempted to beg my way out of this place. I would even use aegyo if nothing else worked.

     I guess desperation for hunger can hurt your pride in these kind of times.

     "Can we please go eat now oppa?" I begged with my best cute face.

     My hopes rised when his face looked like he was going to give in. Finally we can get out of this place!

     "How about after one more try? I really wanna finish up the tokens... " and just like that...my hopes were squashed.

     "Come on...you can just save the tokens for another day. Plus, what would you even do with that bear? Give it to your girlfriend?" I started to fill with rage and hurt as I realised my own words piercing though my heart.

     He stayed silent while focusing on the machine's handles.

     Don't tell me it's true...that he has a girlfriend he wants to give it to. Why am I even here then?

     "Done! Let's go!" I stood there frozen in thought.

     "I thought you said you were super hungry a few minutes ago..." His words finally registered into my head and I chuckled nervously.

     "Uh...yea...of course. Let's go then" I replied hastily.

      We walked of as I shuffled my feet on the smooth ground.

      "Hey, you ok? You seem dejected. I'm sorry I let you starve. Here, take this and forgive me?" He apologised as he held out the medium sized teddy in his hands.

      "Isn't it meant for your girlfriend?" I said annoyed.

      "What do you mean? I don't have one." He questioned, making me confused.

      "You don't? But you didn't answer me when I asked you just now..."

      "You asked? Sorry... I guess I was too focused on the game. I was gonna give it to you later but since we're in this situation, might as well give it to you now. So...do you forgive me?" He explained.

      His words made me relieved but I didn't show it.

      He was going to give it to me? I smiled shyly to myself.

      Unfortunately, the rest of the day passed by in a flash and it was time to part ways.

      "We're friends right? Let's stay in contact. Lend me your phone." He asked politely.

      I passed it to him as he said and he began typing something on it.

      "Here's my number. Promise to text me?"

      "Sure" I was secretly doing a cartwheel in my stomach and a pink tint on my cheeks.

      "Great, see you tomorrow then. Bye then!" He waved and I returned it with a small one.

      As soon as I made sure he was out of sight, I squealed to myself.

      It was the first time I was so excited to return back to school...

I'm so sorry...I know I've been mia for months but school has been tiring me out lately and I just don't have any time. Plus its exam week now but tomorrow is my last paper...FINALLY!!!
