I woke up to the rapping of Libby, the next door neighbour’s cat. I squeezed my eyes, and rubbed them and stretched uncoiling from the sofa, the sofa? Why am I here? Then I saw him. Everything came flooding back, he had turned during the night so now he lay on his back and in the daylight, I could see a cut on his lip that I missed last night, I also saw the really bad patch up skills on his arm. I tried the phone again, Aahh still no connection. This was a problem here in Virgina, because my sister lived so close to the sea, her phone line was always messed up. I will just wait, I walked to the kitchen and busied myself making some breakfast, all the while dancing to the radio. As I shimmed and dropped some eggs in the pan, I thought maybe Suriya will be early coming back from her conference in Hong Kong; she is always flying out as she is an Ad campaigner for Shoo lines. That reminds me I have to do Laney’s shift on Thursday, which also reminds me I need to find a proper job and stop scrounging of my sister. I lived with her most of the time, sometimes I would stay over with Laney but I knew she didn’t particularly like me staying over so I tried to minimalize it. I got depressed thinking about my lack of independence, I am going to turn 20 soon, I had no degree to hold to my name, no work experience except for working random shifts at the local bar ‘Tulu Hu’. I felt so lost sometimes I just don’t know what I am doing anymore. As I contemplated to add cheese I backed up to grab the spoon when I came to direct contact with a solid warm wall. Wait that’s not a wall, it was the same hard muscles she was pushed up against last night, she slowly began to turn praying he wasn’t fully naked, she won’t be able to handle that in broad daylight.

I gasped, yup he was fully naked but she was too close to see the whole length of him, he was tall 6ft2 maybe 3. He was intimidating like a statue, all hard with a heavy scowl, he was too empowering making me feel small and I couldn’t take it anymore, I clasped my hands over my eyes.

“Sorry, I hadn’t realised you had woken up, umm I hope you don’t mind the stiches, the storm cut off the line and I, umm I  tried to fix, help, I do you mind covering up actually I find it a bit uncomfortable, with you being naked, I don’t really. So please can you?” my speech was muffled by my hands and I was breathing hard so that didn’t help, he was so close I could smell him, like raw wood and an earthy musk, was it his smell? He obviously understood because he complied and soon came back with one of the blankets hanging low on his hips. His scowl was replaced with a bored look, he was so beautiful, the morning sun making his blue eyes sparkle against his olive skin and dark hair, and it also outlined the shadows under his eyes. Was he sleeping rough? Most likely I thought to myself. Well what now? I considered.

I held out my hand “Hi, I’m Mya; sorry I was just really uncomfortable with you being naked that’s why I was talking all over the place and was being awkward.” I smiled to make myself seem friendly.  He gave me a smirk and replied

“Well since I was naked and comfortable I was going to ask you to do the same then there wouldn’t have been any awkwardness” I just stared at him, was he serious.

“I’m joking, it was a joke. I’m Arman” he said ending the silence.

I decided to ignore that remark and carry on politely.

“How is your arm? I hope I didn’t make it worse.” I asked.

“It definitely hurts, but it’ll be fine.” He drawled and gave me a lazy smile. How does he do that, make me feel like jelly, he’s so sexy, he probably knows it too.
