Chapter 10- Coffee dates and fights

The rest of the day was just as awkward. This is not how it was supposed to go. We were supposed to just move on. Kyle went out an hour ago, though I guess it was for the best. I get up from my seat on the sofa and head towards the door, grabbing my keys, phone, wallet and a jacket to shield me from the cold rain.

As I head out from the elevator I spot Will heading out the door. Just when I'm about to tap his shoulder, I trip on the carpet and fall towards his back. He turns around just in time to catch me and I thank whoever is watching over me up in the sky.

"Hi there." Will chuckles lightly, his cheeks a light pink colour.

"Yeah, sorry about that. I just figured since you were heading out maybe you were free for an hour or so?" I ask with an embarrassed smile.

"Yeah, I've got some time to spare. You wanna go get a hot chocolate at this nice cafe down the street? It's a five minute walk, tops." He asks me with hope in his voice.

"I'd love that." I smile up at him and we head out the door.

The walk to the cafe takes just about five minutes. Five minutes that are filled with ice cold rain, strong wind and getting splashed by several cars.

When we finally get inside we order a cup hot cocoa each. We chat about everything for hours, enjoying each others company. Will is so kind and a great listener that I completely forget the time.

When I glance at the clock I realize I have to get back to the apartment. Will offer to walk me home and soon I find myself walking through the wet streets of New York with a cute boy next to me. When we arrive at the building we stop hesitantly.

"So, will I see you tomorrow?" Will asks with a hopeful look on his face. Just as I'm about to reply an arm is slung over my shoulders, catching me off guard.

"Hi love. Where have you been? I've been looking for you everywhere!" Kyle interrupts our conversation.

"I've been out with Will that I told you about." I flash an embarrassed smile toward Will.

"Oh yes! I remember. Hi, I'm Kyle Brown, Alexis' boyfriend." I stare at him as he extends his right hand to shake Will's, a puzzled look on his face. Yeah, I kind of forgot to tell him that I have a 'boyfriend'. Oops.

"Will Parker. Pleasure meeting you Kyle. I better get going, but I'll see you around I guess. Bye Lex." Will gives me a hesitant wave as he backs away from us, turning around and walking swiftly down the street.

Kyle leads me to the elevator. Just when the doors close I huff, shoving his arm of my shoulders.

"What the hell was that? I actually like him and you didn't even give me a chance to tell him about us myself!" I glare at Kyle who seems surprised by my outburst, but quickly recovered.

"Well it didn't look like you were about to tell him anytime soon." He fires back.

"Why do you even care? You just left after I told you something important about me, not even saying anything!" The elevator makes a 'ding' noise, signaling that we've arrived at our floor. I storm out the elevator into the apartment without looking behind me.

"What was I supposed to say? 'Sorry your ex is a douche, hope it works out for you'?" He closes the door with a bang.

"No of course not! I don't want your pity! But you could have just made it less awkward! It was hard for me to tell!" I shout at him.

"Well it was hard for me to tell my story too! Don't be so self-centered!" He screams back.

"It's a big difference! Your story has a happy ending!" My voice cracks at the end, and I try to keep the tears away. I can't cry over something like this. I haven't cried since I was brought to the SUD. Kyle is speechless, just opening and closing his mouth like some kind of fish. If I wasn't so upset I would laugh at him.

I march further into the apartment, past the bedroom and straight into the wardrobe. I dig through the drawers until I find what I'm looking for. Snatching the clothes and stuffing them into a bag, I walk swiftly towards the door, grabbing my wallet and keys on my way.

"I'm going out." I tell Kyle who still stands in the entrance with a dumbfolded expression covering his face, as I slam the door to the apartment.

Hi guys! Sorry for not updating, but I've had the most annoying cold ever that just wont go away. Plus my dad had his fiftieth birthday party this weekend for over sixty persons and I was supposed to give a speech(which went awesome, if I may say so).

But, I promise I will get better at updating!
