Chapter 19- Piss off Cole, piss off

 

*Alexis POV*

I slowly turn to the person who interrupted us, and to say I'm surprised is an understatement. 

"Kyle! You said you would call me!" She screeches in her high pitched voice, running towards with her hands in a flamingo-like way, looking utterly ridiculous. 

"Um... Hi Olivia." Kyle nervously scratches the back of his neck as he avoids eye contact with me and Olivia. 

"So, I had a great time that night, Kyle. Why didn't you call? From the way you sounded, you had a pretty great time too." She winks at him and I choke on my breath.

"Excuse me?" I just can't keep my mouth shut any longer.

"Wait, Lexie. Let me explain." Kyle's face show desperation, but I'm too pissed off to care about his feelings.

"Yes, didn't you tell your roommate about our little fling?" She smirks at me as she feigns innocence.

"Olive, stop it." Kyle murmurs. 

"Roommate? Really? Geez, Kyle, thanks. Thanks a lot." I ignore Olivia's remark and turn towards Kyle, who looks anxious.

"Come on, please Elizabeth, don't. Just let me explain." He pleads, but I just snort.

"Oh please, go spend another great night with Olive." I sarcastically remarks, while I feel the bitter taste of betrayal rise in my throat, threatening to choke me.

"I'm sorry, let's just talk about thi-" 

"No I don't want to talk to you, or let you explain! Piss off, Kyle. Piss off." With that I give both him and Olivia, who now has a pleased smile on her lips, my middle finger and start walking towards the flat.

What an asshole. 

When I walk towards the doors of the building twenty minutes later, the tears have been streaming down my cheeks for a while, leaving me to look like a mess.

"Alexis?" Will's dark voice stops me from entering the waiting elevator. I turn towards him, and when he sees my tears, he coos softly and opens his arms. I fall into them, feeling slightly better in his strong embrace.

"Hey, beautiful, what happened?" He strokes my back as I sob. God, why am I crying over him?

"Kyle slept with Olivia." My voice is muffled as I speak against his warm chest. 

"Oh darling. I'm so sorry. Hey, don't waste your tears on him, he's not worth it. If he can't appreciate what he's got then screw him. You don't need him to be happy." I sniff and lift my head from his chest, drying my tears.

"What am I going to do when he gets here? I don't want to talk to him." 

"You can come over to my place." He must have seen the doubt in my eyes because he quickly explain himself.

"We don't have to do anything! I didn't mean it like that!" He sounds panicked and I laugh softly, shaking my head. 

"I know that, calm down. It would be really kind of you to let me stay over at your place." He blushes and then motion towards the door.

"Let's go, my shift is over now."

*Kyle's POV*

As soon as Alexis turns her back on me and Olivia, I turn towards the grinning woman and send her a deadly glare.

"Why the hell would you tell her that! You knew that we are dating, she made it perfectly clear the first day we met! Just because I slept with you once and left right after, doesn't mean that I don't want to be with her!" I scream at her, but the smirk is still evident on her lips.

"Oh, come on, handsome. Now that she's out of the picture we can finally be together and continue where we left." She purrs.

"No! We will never be together, I have to be with her! I love her." My voice goes from angry to defeated quickly. 

"Well it's your fault! You slept with me while you still dated her, so you're the cheater and it's your problem. Asshole." With that she turns on her heel and walk away, her head held high.

Oh shit.

She's right. After everything Alexis gone through, after finally gaining her trust and building up some sort of weird friendship, I have to go and screw up so badly. I could see the hurt in her eyes, the disbelief turning into sorrow and anger, and suddenly I'm so angry at myself for giving into the flirty woman when I had the tough, scarred but oh so beautiful girl right in front of me. I have to go see her. I have to explain and beg for forgiveness. I start sprinting to the apartment, and in ten minutes I'm panting outside the entrance. 

I hurry inside, going straight towards the elevator, pushing the button impatiently. This is it, I'm going to tell her that I love her, and ask her to be with me. Together we will complete this mission. When the elevator stop I sprint out, unlock the door and throw it open, barging into the apartment. 

"Lexie?" The apartment looks just like it did when we left. The silence mocks me as I hurry around the flat, looking for Alexis. The panic is growing stronger and stronger, threatening to suffocate me.

Maybe she's hurt. She could've gotten lost on her way here. Maybe she got abducted, or murdered or-

I stop myself before I go into full panic mode, telling myself that she's fine. I lock up and hurry downstairs, determined to find her. In the lobby, I spot Mr. Wilson.

"Mr. Wilson. Hi. Do you happen to know where my girlfriend, Miss Brown, is? We had a bit of a misunderstanding and I can't seem to find her." I smile apoligizingly towards him.

"Oh yes, she seemed quite upset, but Mr. Parker calmed her down, and she left with him." Mr. Wilson smiles politely.

"Mr. Parker? Who works here?" My heartbeat quickens and I can't help the jealousy rising in my body. Damn it!

"Yes, but no need to worry. Will is a good kid, he'll take good care of her." 

"Thank you, sir." I excuse myself politely and then hurry outside. 

I've got to find her.
