Dispatchers

We are not seen.
We are often forgotten.
Not many will remember us.
Not many care about us.
We go unnoticed at times.

We are dispatchers.

We are the first responders.
We are the first ones on scene.

Though we may only be able to render aid through the phone our job is important.

We lay awake at night and think of how we heard a poor little girl beaten as she hid her phone under the bed to dial 911.

We often wonder whatever came of a particular call.

We often check the obituaries to see if we see someone we dispatched units to.

Dispatchers.
We.
Are.
Here.
But.
Are.
Often.
Forgotten.
